  1. thanks, hooked up with Steve Daniels for Monday out of Clewiston. Hope he can put me on someone else for a couple more days next week
  2. Will be in West Palm next week and can fish a day or two---know I'm getting a late start looking. need some phone numbers just to start the process. thanks
  3. In the coverage last night on ESPN, one of the host who said he's a great friend of KVD said" he told me 3 months ago he was going to cross under the bridge and if the weather cooperated he thought he could win it and not move--also told me to keep my mouth shut!" He knows the seasonal patterns and has been close on Lay Lake twice. ALOT of pre-tourny thinking. Well planned and it worked.
  4. it ain't bragging if you can produce ;D Let the big dog bark!!
  5. Numbers get old quick if you've ever had some of those days. Over 10 lbs. is a life time memory--(date,temp, bait, how it hit, etc.). I think ANYONE with enough time on the water can eventually catch many bass---to consistantly catch BIG bass --it takes someone alittle different!! My opinion(like elbows-everyones is different! )
  6. I would bet it 's closer to 4 than 5! Doesn't look that fat to me >
  7. IF I were to attempt to "stitch a Jig" like WRB or the late Bill Murphy-----where do you buy them? Thanks ;)
  8. On a thread several days ago, alot of ya'll listed the pros you would like to spend the day with.... WRB is still my pick! He's forgotten more than most pros today KNOW 8-) 8-)
  9. Basstar Dredger in Chartruse---- something alittle different than we usually use. DD22's are in my top 3 baits.....haven't used the dredger much, but I see alot of potential---let it sink to the bottom and slowly work it back keeping in the zone alot longer. good at Pickwick???
  10. WRB and Bill Murphy, with WRB as first choice. Could care less about winning a tournament. I want to learn to think like the big'uns think !! One pig a day is worth 25 dinks.
  11. can't reason or converse with stupidity
  12. I know this won't make sense :ohad GREAT sucess with 5" senko's--SO the 7" had to be better and COULD catch bigger fish--WRONG(my experience only). Bait ape put that idea in my head. Still don't understand this--but I've had 5x's more success with 5"er's. SIZE DOES MATTER-IT'S NOT THE SIZE OF THE WORM-IT'S HOW YOU SHAKE IT
  13. Great post on catch and release bass management. Why take a big fish home? Be selfish and put it back--you'll have more confidence everytime you return to that lake. With a picture,wt., and length--a replica is to easy and just makes more sense! Paul--one of the best posts in the last month---THANKS
  14. If your using a dead pulling crank bait where all you feel is the pull and not the vibration you will never feel the difference in vibration and will never have a clue how many fish hit and What makes a crank a dead pullingbait? out of tune? reeling too fast? bad equip.?
  15. Thanks guys--I've learned something. Made me rethink my whole cranking thoughts...The idea of a LMB sucking a DD22 and spitting it out and me not feeling anything has blown my hummingbird mind! But I believe it--There are times when something didn't feel right and I know I froze--didn't mean to but I know I did----NO MORE--sets are free. Thanks
  16. If I wore a baseball cap with a drawsting chin strap attached into the local watering hole after a day on the lake---there would be a "hate crime" and I asked for it!! ;D
  17. WRB-what else could I be fishing for besides a few helpful hints? Fished all my life and still learn something nearly every trip out. This forum is the closest thing to fishing while on dry land. My wife and co workers could care less about a lunker. Sorry to take up your time
  18. Paul--Gibson Co. Lake. Opened April2003. TWRA watershed lake. Has never filled to summer pool--a No Wake lake! 560 acres. All fishing -non-recreational. Although TWRA--It's a Southern, Redneck Mafia Controlled Lake. Anything even close to being a trophy can be photographed, weighed, then must be released or your life will be in DANGER!! :-? It's a government owned--Mafia controlled Big Bass Farm!!! All welcome, but please comply.. Replicas look too good to keep big Bass 8-) 8-) 8-) Paul, Would love to fish with you here sometime. Thanks, PiGG Game Warden
  19. Congrats J-B. How deep of water and what was you presentation? Two things you never forget bass fishing 1) Camera 2) Toilet paper ;D
  20. My response would be it doesn't matter. The majority of the time I hook them center of the "head" of the trailer---I don't want to do anything to impede movement of the trailer. That said I have caught fish hooking a 5" senko wacky behind a strike king pro jig--go figure! 8-)
  21. I have thought a swim bait would work---but, this lake has so much structure. They topped trees down 2 creeks that have 4 to 8 foot stumps in 10 to 12 foot of water. Some of the creeks are 15-18 foot deep. Very liitle dozer work took place on this lake except building a 600 yd. levee. Swim baits with the exposed hooks--won't you be hung up all the time. I fish a DD22 alot---Hang it alot-but have got good with the pocket rocket. Catching fish isn't a big problem----I'm greedy---I want PIGGS 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
  22. What were the double digit fish caught on?? : And don't say a Hook!
  23. sorry, you're right--Just the gate closes for entrance to ramp. You can fish from the bank.
  24. lake closes 30 minutes after sundown and reopens at 6am
