  1. The largemouth ive caught in this murky bay are pretty small. I havent fished it a ton, so there could be some nice sized ones, but will the smaller ones bite big plastics?
  2. What baits do you guys use for severely muddied water?
  3. Does this mean I should be fishing dark skirted spinnerbaits? Or is white okay too?
  4. Over the summer I often fish a brackish water bay that has VERY murky water due to a muddy bottom. Surprisingly there are largemouth bass in the bay with the mud bottom. So, to increase my chances in a tough body of water to fish, does anybody have a suggestions? How does one fish such murky water? Do plastics even work? I was thinking chrome crankbaits, but what else works? Thanks!
  5. Im fishing from the bank, about 3 feet deep at most, and it's a pond with subtle points and cuts. Feeding on very small forage like minnows.
  6. I fish a really small pond in southern New York with a water temp of 50 degrees now. I was fishing this morning in clear skies and air temp of 60 degrees but couldn't catch a thing! I fished mostly lipless cranks and senkos. Do you think they are in the deepest part of the pond now?
  7. Hey everyone, I'm going fishing tomorrow at my local (small) resevoir and wanted to get some input from you guys. I am in southern New York, air temps will be high 50's with water temp right around 50. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies all day. Resevoir water has about 2 feet of visibilty so its kind of clear. But there is a lower pond which has very clear water and more lay downs and underwater structure. I will be fishing in no more than 5 feet of water. Ill be there in the morning around 9 and was wondering if you think I should be fishing plastics? or crankbaits? or jigs around structure? If there is more info I should be including here let me know. I know its hard to give suggestions based on little info but any help is appreciated!! What would you do? Thanks a bunch! BTW, I am fishing from the bank
  8. Hey everyone, Just wondering what you use split shot rigs for? I fish mostly from the bank of a small resevoir, alot of the time from a dam. Would it be worth my while to split shot soft plastics and drag them on the bottom as opposed to weightless techniques? The water is pretty shallow, around 6 feet deep at most. Thanks
  9. Hey guys what is your favorite way to fish worms? Texas weightless? Shaky head? Wacky? Weighted? Carolina?
  10. Idk if anyone has heard of em but these little jigging spoons called swedish pimples are awesome for LMB. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_96729____SearchResults
  11. Thanks, how do you set the unit up? What is required for installation?
  12. Not sure if im in the right forum, but I'm looking in to buying a fish finder. Im willing to spend around 300 bucks and was wondering what you guys thought? How do you set one up? I have a little boston whaler on a small bay, so I dont have any bass boat electronic compatibility. Do i just buy a portable one? Or can I get a lowrance? Please help!!
  13. Hey everyone I'm looking for a new rod for lmb fishing. Preferably 6.5 to seven feet, mh fast action tip. I need a good all around rod though. I'm willing to spend around 200 to 250 bucks. What do you all think? Has anyone tried the lami excels? they look nice for the price. Thanks.
  14. Hey everyone, I fish a bay here on eastern LI that is sometimes opened by the town to the atlantic, thus making the water brackish. I've caught a lot of largemouth bass here, but was wondering if anyone had any advice? The deepest it gets in the main part of the bay is about 15 feet and the bottom is rocky. I'm assuming there are saltwater species in there. Ive caught some snapper. But i usually catch the bass in the inlets where the bottom is typically very muddy and no deeper than 3 feet. The water is very stained consistently and fish ive caught hold closely to docks and shoreline reeds. Thanks.
  15. I really didn't say it was a bad rod , it's actually a pretty good rod for the price but it was made for cranks . Sorry you took it the wrong way.[/quote no my fault, no worries
  16. Fishing a small resevoir here in the northeast (NY). Water temps anywhere from 50-60 degrees. Pretty shallow too, Im fishing from the shore in fairly clear water (3 foot visibility). Anyways, does anyone have suggestions as to what crankbaits I should be using? Brands, sizes, colors? Lipless or not? Btw, there are some bluegill and crappie in the pond if it matters. Thanks a bunch

  19. It's really a crank bait rod , too wimpy for plastics.
  20. When I posted the pic I wasnt sure if someone would comment on the fact that the fish was on the ground haha
  21. Hey thanks! A lot of guys have been saying that about the berkley, and i agree
  22. Yeah I love my berkley rod too, even when fishing senkos I can feel everything.
  23. Just wondering how you guys maintain your rods and reels? After a day of fishing what do you do? Wipe em down? With what? How often? Thanks!
