  1. Anyone still fishing? Night temps are d**n cold, so the water must be getting very cold. I'm thinking about hitting some rivers and trying for some trout......they are biting good right now from what I've been told. Steve
  2. My buddy put his boat up for the season, so it looks as though I'm done for the year. Oh well, time to stock up on tackle for next season. Steve
  3. Where were you fishing? Steve
  4. Might try and get out Friday..........supposed to be 60's and sunny. Probably be the last time in the boat, my buddy is a deer hunter and the season starts Saturday morning. Steve
  5. Gimme a shout..........I'll go with ya. I'm unemployed right now, so I have plenty of time to hit the water. No boat here, so I depend on my buddy to go with, or I hit some shores. Steve
  6. Another Mainer here...................just checking in. Steve
  7. Another Mainer here..............and a bump for the thread to the top. Steve
  8. My friend and his cousin went to Ossipee today, only caught 2 bass all day. That was on a white spinnerbait, in shallow water, around noon. I think I'm going out Wednesday with my buddy...........not sure where yet, but most likely Mousam, Great East, or Ossipee. We want to try the Saco River too. Put the boat in at Skelton dam, and fish up to the next dam in Hollis. Where are you located? Steve
  9. Which is the best one to go with..........floating, slow sink, or fast sink? I was at Cabelas the other night, and all they had was slow sink. Not sure which to buy, or if to spend the $20 at all. Steve
  10. My normal SM setup is a 6' medium action spinning rod setup, 8# fluro, and a 4" tube with rattles. That's a very sensitive setup that lets me feel the lure very well. The tubes imitate the crayfish that the SM love to eat. Steve
  11. White spinnerbait is what I normally use. Going to try and get out this week, probably Great East Lake, Mousam, or Ossipee. I have everything ready to try...........spinnerbaits, crank baits, tubes, jigs, worms.........you name it and we'll be ready to try it to catch some fish. Steve
  12. How are people doing now that the temps are dropping into the 20's at night? What's the hot lure that is still working? Hoping to get out for a couple more days before snow flies, looking for tips on what is still working. Steve
  13. I've got a Plano 787 tackle box for sale in the classified section if anyone is looking for a hard tackle box. Steve
  14. Tube bait with a 3/8 oz internal jig head with rattle on 8# flurocarbon line...........looks like a crawfish which is a smallies favorite food. Works like a charm. Steve
  15. I just watched the Roland Martin show today that had the designer of this lure on. They used the lure and were killing monster bass, they really made the thing look amazing. For a $20 lure it better catch some fish...........LOL Anyone want to get rid of theirs that doesn't work, send it my way....I'll give it a try up here in Maine. Steve
  16. Maybe I'll get it for my wife to use next year.............LOL Steve
  17. I also read to use black lures when night fishing, something about the black will blend in with the darkness and not allow the fish to see that it's a fake food source. Vibration and rattles help at night as well. I have a black spinnerbait and a black jitterbug that I use exclusively at night. Steve
  18. Do you use a trolling motor with it? I've seen some people who make a platform in the front using the middle seat and the front seat with wood planks screwed down to them. Boat looks in great condition, and for $200 it's a hell of a deal. Steve
  19. http://cgi.ebay.com/3-8-oz-thingy-jig_W0QQitemZ150377657104QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item230334f310 What exactly would this lure work for?? LOL Steve
  20. Heading to Mousam Lake this morning, see if we can get some fall bass in the boat. Season is coming to an end quick............getting very cold at night now. Steve
  21. Think I'm going to do some shore fishing this week, not sure where to go since it's been so long since I did it. Anyone in the area have any good spots that are legal and good to fish from? Steve
  22. I have a floating one, and 2 that sink. The floating one seems to run about 4-6 feet down, so the sinking ones will be where ever I let them sink to. That's good to know. Steve
  23. I have a few rat-l-trap lures, and I'm curious how deep they run when cranked in with fluro line. They appear to be coming in around 4-6 feet down, but I can't find any info to confirm what they should be running at. Any ideas? Steve
  24. We are going to try the Saco river, just not sure when. We are planning on putting in at Skelton Dam in Dayton and heading north from there. Is there LM or SM in the river? Bunganut pond is another place we want to try, but the access boat launch is closing Columbus day weekend. I need to get back into shore fishing since my buddy works more then I do. Just need to find some good spots to fish from shore. Steve
  25. I've always read that Fluro should be used with Crankbaits. The line sinks, so it allows the crankbaits to run 1-3 feet deeper then they normally would with mono. Just a thought, not sure what line you are using. Steve
