Never Backed A Trailer.
Mista - good job. Hope you get a chance to back the boat in a lot. Had a partner that I would NOT let back up my boat trailer. He can wreck his own stuff. He doesn't have one to practice with. It would be better if he kept his eyes closed and I stood at the door and told him what to do. Easier for me to just do it myself.

Cleat Location For Flat Bottom Jon Boat
Go to the Tracker web page and look at the jon boats. You can find the 1648 (there are several different models of the 1648). Click the photos tab and there are pictures of the cleats.

Red Treble Hooks
I have one Tiny Trap that came with red hooks. I had more success on it catching crappie than any other. So, I put red hooks on other Tiny Traps and it does seem to help. I used them trolling and probably never went more than 6 feet deep and they worked best when the sun was shining. The red probably showed up well under those conditions. But, I've never seen any difference fishing for any other species of fish. I believe it's like others have said, it's a confidence thing. What you have confidence in you will use more efficiently.

Arthritis
X2 Been living with arthritis pain for years. Seems like every joint in my body hurts, at one time or another. Best advise from doctors and therapist is to keep moving. Sit still and complain 'cause it hurts just makes it worse. Exercise is better for your body than meds.

How To Cut Through Ice Without A Auger?
It's called an ice "spud". About 4-5' of heavey steel rod with a chisel on the end. Put a rope through the top end and put your hand through the loop so when you go through the ice and it slips out of your hand you can keep it. Not like a guy that used mine. He dropped it through the hole. He didn't fish with me, again.

How Many Days A Year Do You Fish
Since I retired I'm lucky to get 3 days a month. When I was 40 years younger and working two jobs, I fished at least 3 times a week. Most of the things that take up my fishing time are really self inflicted, time consuming projects and church. Once this kitchen remodel is done, I owe myself about a month of fishing non stop. Even though my wife and I are in our 70's we both say we need a full time job so we can get some rest.

Poor Luck With Super Fluke?
I have had the same thing happen to me. There are times when the color does make a difference. The weather (sun, cloudy) and water clarity will cause one color to work better than another. One particular lake, I couldn't get a hit on any color except firetiger (Bitter's skip shad) in the sunny spots and then in the shade of a tree I got bit on a white fluke.

Feathering Line When Using Baitcasters
Everything affects how fast the spool on your reel spins when you cast; settings on reel, wind direction, lure weight, the way you handle your tackle, line size, type of line, and on and on. You can set up your reel just exactly the way manufacture tells you, turn 180 degrees and cast the other way, into or with the wind, and need to feather the spool. How you do it is just a matter of practice. If I have everything set just right, I can cast without touching the line, but change anything and the mechanics of the reel need some human help. You learn to do this with practice, practice, practice,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. Get the point? Some of us are old enough to have learned how to cast with a 5' steel rod and a "plug" casting reel that had no controls. When you cast a lure the handle spun with the reel. If a fish ran beyond your control, the reel handles spun, hence the name "knuckle buster". We cast everything from a big daredevil to a bobber with a "perch" hook and the only control was our thumb. After while, your thumb on the spool is pure instinct, and you don't analyze it, just do it.

What Made You Choose You're Username?
In 1967 I had a new 1968 Rambler station wagon and I put a CB radio in it and needed a "handle". Stuck with it every since.

Green Pumpkin Vs. Watermelon Red
Watermelon red. My confidence bait, but when that doesn't work, Junebug. I met a man that owned a trolling motor repair shop. He sold lures. One whole wall of lures. But, the only thing on that 12' long wall was Zoom trick worms watermelon red. He told me that that is the only lure he has ever used and he catches 10 pounders on that worm. His son told me that the man got permission to fish on a private lake (natural but privately owned property all around it) that was not fished. With that worm he was catching 40 bass/day. I have no reason to not believe him. Off the wall and probably irrelevant question' Green pumpkin looks like OD to me. Ever seen a plastic worm called OD?

Fishing Hook Arsenal
For value/price my preference is Gamakatsu. I use EWG, mainly 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0, and some 1/0 offset shank. Others as I think I need them. I found the best price to be the 25 count economy packs at Gander Mountain. Once in a while, at different Wal-Marts, I can find the economy packs for a better price.

Too Much Tackle?
My wife has all the purses, jewelry, clothes, etc. she wants and more. I know because I buy it for her and that gives me pleasure. She always wants me to buy tackle for myself. I do and I let her know what I want for birthday/Christmas or whatever and she buys it. She knows I have more tackle than I need but never too much. It is not unusual for us to go to Academy and I spent $10-$20 on tackle and she spends $130 on shoes. We just laugh about it and go to lunch. One of the things we have realized, since we are retired and living on a retirement, it is very easy to have everything we want. We just adjust our wants to match our life. Life is a lot easier, and more fun, that way. Happy New Year!

Pre Rapala Wiggle Wart Color Chart
Search for exactly that on Bing. I saw a lot of pictures of those charts. You might have to click the word "images". Sometimes they just come up. If you want pictures of anything, go to Bing. Ask for largest bass (or anything) and you will get pages and pages of pictures.
