  1. I'll just be a medic for both sides. I'm young, but everyone at work calls me the 50 year old kid
  2. Yeah, I was going to use the epoxy. I used to make little CO2 dragsters in middle school (think the boy scouts pine wood derby, only with co2 tanks in them) and the epoxy just gives a nice clean finish. Looks like the Devcon 2-ton 30 minute is the way to go?
  3. Keep it simple - Get a green (Watermelon or Green Pumpkin), get a blue/black and get a brown. Don't worry about getting swirls or pinks or whites... Just keep it simple!

  5. Nice! I was thinking of just getting the spray paint for the big areas, then do the airbrushing for some things and use some tiny brushes for other things. I'll post some images once I get this stuff done. I'm actually going to model the crank bodies via a 3d modeling program then have them cut on a CNC (I know it's cheating, but I can't curve to save my life). I have some neat body designs in my head
  6. dablaw I know where you're coming from. I think people just need to make their mistakes. I know I see alot of people trying to get these people to see the industry for how it is, but most of them just won't listen. Sometimes you need to let the kid put their hand on the stove before they learn I wish everyone would be more careful though, especially since we've seen some scammers emerge!
  7. Cool thanks guys. What about using spray paint as a base (say my bait will be mostly white)? Or should I just go all airbrush? I know, I'm a cheap sob, but I got kids and they are a cash black hole ha 8-)
  8. Thanks guys, that helps alot. I hope this airbrush works ha my pap have it to me and I bet it's 30 years old. I have no problem buying one but you can't beat free!
  9. I just picture a bunch of little 5 and 6 year old kids sitting around in a PC cafe flaming each other... "Whatz your favorite fishing wod chawacter?" "Scooby Doo" "Scooby Doo sucks! Dora Wules!" I'm sure that isn't how it is, they are probably more mature than most of the adults on here
  10. I know I have seen all you painters say you can use that cheap craft paint in airbrushes, but what are you using to thin it out? I have seen on the net everything from windex to water, some say use alcohol, others said not too... Also, is it really much more cost effective to use this craft paint vs. buying airbrush paint? The stuff at Michaels was like 4.50 for a tiny bottle where I could get the same sized craft paint for 3 for 2 dollars. I guess what I'm asking there is, will the airbrush paint take less coats making the cost not all that bad? Sorry if this sounds noobish, but it is I searched and didn't find anything on the subject.
  11. What do you have? WFN is really pushing petitions on Facebook to get WFN on Directv. You can always watch Lunkerville online MyOutdoorTV has a lot of good stuff to watch too. I wish Outdoor Channel would show more fishing all the time. It's hunting 24/7 (or offroad stuff) and then even during prime fishing season, they only give it 1 night.
  12. I think it's Denali (spelling?) rods. I think he made another thread about being picked up by them.
  13. I have to agree with tommy on this one. But I'll take this a step further. I treat my 'sponsorships' (which are all field staff positions at the moment, so I don't consider them 'sponsors') like a job. I'm working for a discount for their products. If I promote their product and do well then I get a promotion, just like I would with a job. I don't expect anything free from ANY company I promote because honestly, I don't have a lot to offer them (1 measly website about fishing isn't much to offer a company). I promote the heck out of Quantum and Strike King and I'm not even affiliated with them in any way. My point is, if you make a good product, I'll promote it. If you want to give me a discount in return, I'm all for it, but if you make a junk product and want me to promote it with the promise of free stuff and all that jazz, forget it. I will agree with you dablaw that a lot of my generation feel they can just ask for stuff with nothing in return, but I'm sure every generation has their bad apples.

  15. I agree with you on that one but there are so many more good players that crosby can leave
  16. I use it. I used AVG and Avast on my other PC's for a long time. If you use these, then switch to MS Security Essentials, you'll notice a nice increase in speed. I never realized how much either of these bogged down my system until I uninstalled them. Now, all of our work PC's and all of my home PC's run it. I usually don't recommend MS products, but this one gets my thumbs up!
  17. Cadman that jig would look awesome with a blade on the bottom. You should make them
  18. x2 That's the ONLY rage craw color I buy, not because the rest of them don't work, but I have never ran into a situation where they weren't biting that color. Nice fish! I like to throw lightweight jigs also. I usually don't go any heavier than 3/8.
  19. Go PENS! I actually like the Caps too, only because the Hershey Bears moved in with them GO BEARS!
  20. I'd go with the Kindle. I have the kindle app on my Droid X and it's pretty slick. I hate reading anything of great length on a screen though so it doesn't get used very much. All of the book apps I have used usually have the exact same books for the exact same price, so it's really going to come down to features for you.
  21. http://www.do-itmolds.com/prodmolds.aspx?c=52 That's the closest thing I could find in a mold that wouldn't need modified... Cadman has the right idea though and he know's his stuff I remember this guy from TU. Those are nice for running swimbaits with. Alton Jones did an episode of Classic Patterns with that jig.
  22. Quantum Bill Dance Select Baitcasting Combo... I know it's not JUST a reel, but for $49.99 (mine was $60 when I bought it) it's the best rod AND reel I have used. Perfect for all around use and it can take a beating.
  23. I think we need to start you your own forum Anyway, if your worried about your guides and can't/don't want to change them, spray on some KVD line and lure conditioner. It's not going to completely protect the guides, but it will cut down on the friction.
  24. Spiderwire is a decent line. My buddy still uses Invsi-Braid on his spinning reel. I don't know why they call it that, it's just a white braid I was a long time Spiderwire user but recently switched to Vicious Braid. It's softer than spiderwire and lays on your spool more... cleanly I guess I'd say. Either product is a good bet for your money! I hate paying a ton of money for line and Spiderwire and Vicious are both cheap and work great!
  25. Geez I'll answer this different every time but here goes: Johnny Cash Eric Clapton Tool A Perfect Circle Ashes Divide The Beatles John Lennon Paul McCartney Amorphis Breaking Benjamin Seether The Who The Doors Rush Dream Theater Opeth Led Zeppelin In Flames HIM Dredg Avenged Sevenfold Alexisonfire and last but not least Turbonegro
