D Tac, yes it is cold at night for So Cal, but we are pretty spoiled. I have a Revo SX I plan on using with it, should make a realy nice set up. Looking forward to getting on the water.

I am looking at getting a Dobyns 703C or a Powell 703CEF rod. Is the Dobyns worth another $100.00. Both feel good in my hand, the only real difference is the Dobyns seems a little lighter, but not convinced its $100 lighter. Thoughts?

Thanks fo all the feed back! I took advantaqge of that deal for the Revo STX for $99.00 that just seemed like to good of a deal to pass up. I'll keep you postd on what rod i decide to put it on!

Thanks for the feedback any opinions on the berkley Tactix line that is technique specific and what about the max series low profile reels,, all these seem fairly reasonable too.

Im getting into bass fishing but dont have alot of money. How are the Berkley Tactix since they are reasonably priced and are technique specific. Also what is a good baitcaster for under $100,, all suggestions welcome on getting started with good quality for a good price!
