How much would I be looking at for a rough estimate for total weight of a 14 ft boat decked out? Trying to get a general idea seeing that the Sierra v6 is rated for 6700 I believe.

Is the new 2014 Sierra v6 enough to tow a 14 ft v hull boat that I plan to buy? I would add decking to it which would add some weight. The new v6 sierras have 285hp and 305 torque and that seems like it would be enough. I would probably take it to the local lakes and might once in a while take haul it a little over an hour one way to out of town lakes. Mainly I would use it to commute to and from school 5 miles one way but want to be able to pull the boat around no problem. There are some pretty good offers on v6 sierra's which is making me think.

I am interested in starting a project build for the winter. I want my boat to be as light as possible and stable to hold 4 people max, but mostly be fishing by myself. The boat would have to be all electric to save a highschool kid some money down the road. What size boat would you first recommend? I will probably interest in one or two transom trolling motors. Which ones are affordable and strong (speed)? I want to install a livewell also, but only buy the essential parts from fishing companies and compensate the livewell tank with like a cooler or something. The tubing from like home depot or lowes anything to keep the stuff you can get cheap but like the same exact thing. I will need batteries also so recommend so good and affordable ones! Oh, and I would like to add a deck maybe 5-8 feet? Oh recommend a charger for the batteries. I don't need a back one deck but it would be nice so... Please help me out! Please make a list of cost per item and maybe send links to your projects also. I am interested in getting a outboard only if its pretty fuel effecient though...
