  1. got a falcon orig. that the second guide from top has a grove in it. love the rod, has held up to more than i expected, but don't know of anyone near me that replaces them. if i do, thinking of micro guiding it! don't have the guts to try my self
  2. oh, football jig, they come out alot better when plucking line to knock it loose.
  3. almost all of them on 1/4oz pumpkin jig with baby brush on it, caught few dragging swim bait on bottom. crossed paths with a guy that caught 5lb. smallie on black spinnerbait, but i'm not a big spinner user. pitched a torpedo on gravel banks a little and bluegills hit it on every cast, but no bass. i heard shaky head is working well. i would have loved to stay another night but, live 2hrs. away and was worn out
  4. got in probably last night trip of the year, and turned out well. oh, fullmoon also. cuaght a 4.5lbs., 5-5.5lbs. large mouth, had a 5lbs. smallie up to boat and then it decide to shoot in the air, smack the side of my boat and throw me off. knees were shaky after that fight.
  5. has anyone used the new micro guide rods and are they really what they claim?
  6. water melon or pumpkin have done well for me. wish i could figure out how post pic. it says file is too large
  7. cuaght smallie bout like that three weeks ago, nice fish, what area were you in?
  8. never been that far south, mostly fished around kuttawa, but early morning road beds and rip rap have been good to me. also points and rocky banks with main channel bends close by too. buddy and i caught about 25-30 smallies in april on one rocky bank that had main channel bend 30yds. away. most were not legal, but three about 3lbs.
  9. anyone going to paris, tn for the tourney?

  12. o'boro generally go to ky/barkley. going tommorow
  13. rough river worth the trip?
  14. anyone know how the flooding and record water pull effected the ledges, shellbeds, gravel, grass, ect. on ky/barkley lakes?
  15. may try the canal
  16. congrats, not a bad prize! would like to make the trip to see the lake, but as of now it is suposed to rain on my next four off wonder what this will do to the ledges, shell beds, grass, etc.

  18. glad i decided to stay and fish good ol carpenters lake man we need a lake worth putting boat in around here
  19. still thinking about going, may stop at beshear one day, never been there. live cam at moors landing show that you can't get to the docks, but reports say still catching fish in bays. kinda want to play with new HB 898 ;D
  20. me too, same answer i'm looking for. going wed. and thur. if it is worth the trip.
  21. water temp. was around 65, got to 68-69 when sun stayed out.
  22. blood river and east bank of main lake. didn't even make a cast on west side so am not sure on that side. gooogle ky lake fishing report, first two sights have the major guides reports, and look at lake conditions. watch the wind on ky, can get rough.
  23. went to ky and barkley 21-23, on ky, numbers were great, caught 50 myself one day but no big ones. my buddies caught some nice one on barkley. the other boat with us caught 20-30 smallies on barkley, very rare, 3 of them over 3lbs. and lost a bigger one. with all the rain this week, i would say buck brush might hold several, but i have always caught fish on gravel/chunk rock banks on ky lake. spawn should be soon, if haven't already started.
  24. got the big ram mount for my 898 at jandhproducts for $74, got here in 2 days unless back ordered
