I actually tried a shaky head, but i felt like i wasn't getting anywhere with it... the bottom has thick weeds as tall as the worm. When I caught the wacky-rig fish, it was on watermelon dingers. And i will take up your suggestions and wade!

Today i fished a new, largish pond. It is crazy clear, pretty deep for a pond, bottom covered in small aquatic plants maybe 6 inches tall. Its hard to fish the pond due to lots of trees surrounding it. The pond has two islands in it. There are lots of laydowns in it. I fished for about two hours today. I caught one small fish on a firetiger spinnerbait and two on wacky worm.

im pretty new to bass fishing, but have had success with these: mono for plastics, spinnerbaits, braid for frogs, jigs, buzzbaits, braid with leader for wacky worms

Have a Tierra and love it.

This year I had gone bass fishing two times. Caught nothing. Yesterday I went to a local lake and TORE UP. Could actually see some bass in the shallows, some solid 5 lbers swimming around. My friend and i were pitching jigs with no success. I decided to try a wacky rigged dinger, and it took off from there. Hit after hit, we caught bass over 14 inches, the biggest 18 and the average probably 15. They were really acrobatic, many threw the hook. Eventually it slowed down, caught some on drop shot. They liked red speckled pumpkin and junebug. but it was nice to actually do some catching.

Gander Mountain Ultra light

Yeah one time in a river I was crappie fishing using a 5 wt fly rod and a spinning reel. 4 lb line, hook minnow and bobber, landed a 22 inch catfish. Line broke once he was in the boat, like the other guy's. Was a cool fight, for a while i could not do anything with it.

PS I own the Tierra and love it!

Not recommending any of these, but the Daiwa Tierra reel and Revo S are other favorite reels in that price range.

Just google it. Its not too hard if you take your time and do it right.

Yogurt, cheese ,sourdough pretzels, tasty cake krimpets, fried chicken, cheese its, WATER ,subs, more yogurt And my favorite dinner after fishing has to be loads of spaghetti and garlic bread.

Like with what lures?
