Right, your post was spot-on in that sense, though.

Agree. I think @TOXIC meant "none of" when he typed in "-0- of", not "off".

Gut Feeling
Yes. At least once This "good day" in particular came after days of rain... Water table was crazy high, winds up, overcast, I was only one there that day. Boat launch was flooded, but I had my yak and was determined to get out. There's a covered "canal" between two bodies of water. I had a gut feeling there were bass feeding there, at the mouth where the water was "spilling" out. Parked my yak against the rocks nearby and cast a 3/8 oz wacky jig with a green pumpkin/gold flake Trick worm. Don't remember how many I caught, but dang, it payed off. Funny you mention the topic "gut feeling". I was telling one of my sons just this week that I had a "gut feeling" this is going to be a really good fishing year for us. While it hasn't truly begun, I truly believe it will be great. I've had other gut feelings out there that apparently were nothing more than gas, LOL. Those didn't pay off.

Best Way to Cook a Steak?
Ok everyone. I know there are some great cooks here on the forum (there has to be with over 50,000 members). One of the best steaks I ever had was at Ruth's Cris on our wedding anniversary. Since then, we've looked up how to cook them and my wife made some incredible ribeyes using salt, pepper, butter and some TLC Ruth's Cris style over a low heat on the grill. Was reading this AM about boiling a steak and the sous vide method came up. Holy cow that looks awesome. Would love to try it. So I throw this out to y'all. Do you have a great way to cook a steak? And if so, care to share the deets? I'm partial to medium rare, fwiw.

Traditional sonar vs CHIRP reading SI @ speed ?
When I'm back in the market, I will. Thanks, @Wayne P. Though I can in no way afford one, I've been eyeing Lowrance models under $600 with down scan and some with SI. Would love to plot the lakes I fish as there are zero helpful charts from Newport News for Lee Hall and Harwood's Mill. All I got is some old barely legible map for $3 from the Ranger station. Not very helpful...but a chart plotting setup would certainly be!

Float n' Fly Failure
Maybe, then, it's something to avoid in my waters? Down here in the Tidewater area of VA, we have no smallies, only large mouth...

Targeting record size Bluegill with lure
Geez, @MikeWright, you killed it for me!! I don't use lures for bluegill! I use worms or trout pellets or Berkeley maggot-like things for BG. And I LOVE to target them with a long pole (no reel). Man that's fun And moreso when a nice sized bass decides to feast.

Float n' Fly Failure
That's good info to know. I've been pondering putting together a FnF rig and will have to file this for future thought.

Traditional sonar vs CHIRP reading SI @ speed ?
Guess that puts Garmin out of contention when I'm back on the market for a good fish-finding unit.

Favorite baitcast reel of the 1990's
Now there's a new reason for spinning gear superiority!!! LOL. Good on ya, mate!

$50 Pro Qualifier
If I was in the market, I'd strongly consider one... They handle well in store, but I've never owned one and, consequently, fished one. @Goose52 knows the reel well, though. Take his word for it. I'm wondering if BPS is finally winding down the reel to replace it in 2017. Seeing they've rolled out the new Platinum series and Titanium series, I could see a new "metal" coming in to replace the PQ. Maybe the "Tungsten" or "Lead"...just kidding on the names, but the theory stands! Oooops, never mind. I see there's now the PQ 2!! Missed that the other day when I was browsing.

Favorite baitcast reel of the 1990's
Welcome aboard, David! I never fished baitcasters until the 2000s...so no help there Never really interested in them until then. And now that I've gone there, I've gone back to mainly spinning!

Do any of you film your fishing?
Welcome aboard, Tim! Plenty of folks here record their fishing endeavors. I'm sure they'll chime in before long.

Float n' Fly Failure
I was gonna suggest the "float and senko" wacky rigged! Great presentation.

need to purchase a spinning reel $150-200
As a Shimano fan, I'd be biting at the bit to get another Stradic FK model. I prefer 1000 size, but a 2500 or 3000 is solid, too. FWIW, the 1000 Stradic has 31 IPT... For Daiwa, I'd shoot for a Ballistic EX. Obviously Pflueger is a good choice, too. Can't go wrong with any, I suppose And I'm shooting at the top end of your range, eh. Ah well, it's what I'd do with $200 to spend on a spinning reel...

Favorite prespawn drop shot baits?
You have a bevy of options for DS baits including Senkos, Roboworms, minnow-style baits, creature baits and so forth. Generally speaking, I like my DS rigged 16-24" above the weight, but will go up or down depending on how much leader I have left (before changing), if I can "see" where the fish are suspended (if water clarity is superb)... As for time of year, I will fish it year-round. Will likely add to my techniques this season as I hope to fish the prespawn with more success than I've had in the past.

Greetings folks!
Welcome aboard! Nice name Nobody here gets snagged, though...

Finesse Fishing
You know what, you're right. I take back what I said. They're possibly the worst drop shot baits made. Zeeter, stay away from them!!
