  1. What? Thanks for the replies about cutting off the stock hooks guys... that makes way better sense, I will definitely try this
  2. The bps later eye 1/4 oz has a different sound and has accounted for a many a bass in my weigh in bag.... they're not too noisy and not too subtle... they're just right... and reasonably priced
  3. The overall reason for the lethargic attitude of the fish I believe was lack of wind... you always want a little ripple of some sort, not gale force but even a slight breeze is better than calm and slick. try using 6# floro and a watermelon red flake yum finger wacky style... that should do the trick... a dinger thrown in a unpressured body of water can do some serious damage on the resident bass.... I do well on pressured waters with it myself
  4. Hey guys I've been tournament bass fishing for about 20 years and I have a pretty good deal on how to get a lot of bites in the fall months when bass are focused on shad and baitfish but my lure of utmost confidence has a slight flaw and that is where I was looking for ideas to help in this dilemma. In the fall months I absolutely wreak havoc on the bass population while simply tossing a 1/4oz Mepps Aglia No.3 everywhere I go and it is my GO-TO bait hands down during this season. Problem is I get a lot of fish that swipe at the bait, don't totally commit, or wind up coming unbuttoned during battle and it is a serious issue that needs attention. I want to somehow add another treble to the existing one on the bait but don't know exactly how to go about doing so. I am totally happy with the way my aglia draws strikes and I don't want to change anything that will make the bait do anything that it isn't already doing... Any suggestions on what I can do to aid my bait so as to miss or lose fewer fish.... Thanks guys
  5. If you aren't cussing, you aren't fishing hard enough!
  6. Man, isn't it great when you try a new way to fish and find success! I did that today when I caught a fine 6 lber on my dropshot, I've caught hundreds on the DS but I had never used a tube as the bait. I have now an obvious confidence in this bait on my DS as I was looking for an edge on my lake that sees a lot of pressure ... it's strictly a C&R lake and there are a lot of small 1 to 2 lbers in the water , but man these fish see a lot of lures..... I ended up catching another solid 2 lb male on my tubed out DS, while driving home I was thinking to myself, why hadn't I tried this earlier. My question is this, does anyone have a favorite bait they use with the DS?.... I realize the tube on a DS isn't my idea but I sure do wonder why it's taken me this long to try it out.... Can anyone let me know if they have good results with tubes as the bait that maybe have a tip they could maybe pass on?... thanks to all who read.
  7. 3 1/2 inch Zoom small tube (watrmln/red)..... yes, I too have always either Texas rigged em or used a tube jighead (insert).....

  11. Senko blk/blu 1/2 oz jig chiggercraw booyah pad crasher kitech swing impact on 1/4 head
  12. So it's basically a Smargemouth bass cool.... I've never heard of mean mouth bass before now... wow... but it's a bass so they are cool and theat one looks like it would peel a little drag!!
  13. Where's your senkos or dingers... no tacklebox is complete without them. Period
  14. Wind means to me if the water is off colored or any color than crystal clear, spinnerbait... and I try to fish the wind blown side of ponds or lakes... wind pushes baitfish and other stuff to these areas and a spinnerbait was made to fish in the wind... I think there are better bait choices at other times and conditions but I use the old adage Wind=Spinnerbait, and it's a good choice
  15. Wow thanks for the info I'm gonna try and get some info in the ways above.... ?
