I was gonna throw out a question to the forum about @SirSnookalot. Wish he'd chime in again... Yeah, he's had good results with Pfluegers, but, and I can't be 100% certain, had older model Shimanos. I've had great success with the FJ and FK in saltwater. The FI is also great, but I did have some issue with the bail. Though not such that couldn't be remedied....

Seeing how I no longer get fishing shows due to basic cable, what I DID enjoy was MLF and Larry Dahlberg's Hunt for Big Fish, among a few others.

Back in the day I used a lot of mono. I'd say the best I found in terms of limpness was Trilene XL... I'm sure that's been surpassed these days, but I could use it down to smaller spool spinning reels (ultra lights).
