Agree re: cycle. I happen to fish worms all the time still. For me it is about catching (well, not so far in 2013... ) and worms do it the best in my book. So I Wacky, TX, SplitShot, DropShot 'em.

I use them for worm hooks mainly, simply because of the price. Prefer Gamakatsu. I have had a BPS hook break on me, only one that I can think of. Still use them...for now. When it comes to wacky rigging tho, I use Gamakatsu or Owner.

1. Yes, for the most part2. Not very, but I typically squirt a nice dollop into a bag of worms and mash it around. If I put that worm back in, then it gets re-mega'd 3. Depends on how much you apply and how often. I can go quite a while on one tube.... Order up 2, make the second a diff scent, like the garlic version...

What kind of areas are you fishing? Laydowns? If drop shotting, see if you can find Yamaminnows. They're pretty deadly on the drop.

Have you tried wacky rigging various sizes of worms? Eg., standard colors with varying flakes like the Zoom Finesse worms in watermelon, green pumpkin (and try variations within those colors) Next go up to the Yamamoto Senko, thinking along the same color scheme and variations. And check local tackle shops for suggestions on what works in local lakes.

Only stuff with pink in it would be crappie jigs. Don't think I have any other pinks. Haven't found the color to be that effective for crappie, so haven't pursued for bass....

Other guys have pretty much tackled the sticking thing (with steps to try). As for PowerPro, honestly, 20 would be the MAX I would use on spinning gear. I personally use 10 lb test on mine, and 20 on my bait caster. I throw wacky rigs, TX, split shot, light jigs, etc., with zero issues. What matters more is the leader (IMO). I go up to 15lb if I'm throwing in sticks, thick grassy areas, etc. I have had one PP 10 lb break experience that I know of -- it was OLD, worn and should have been replaced first. Fortunately it was on a snag. But I have brought in thick, water-soaked logs off the bottom and the braid holds fine. I signed up for the "free" Tuf-line, wanted 10, settled for 12lb since that was the smallest diameter offered. Just my .02. One man's overkill is another man's go-to.

Hard to say most effective finesse. If I were to put them to a top 4, here's my try: 1. Green Pumpkin Finesse Zoom w/Chartreuse tip tail, wacky rigged 2. Watermelon Gold Flake Zoom Finesse Worm, wacky rigged 3. Yamamoto Watermelon Gold Flake Yamaminnow, wacky OR split shot rigged 4. Zoom Tiny Fluke, Watermelon Red, Wacky OR Split shot rigged

Sure, why not? I used 8 lb on an Accurist. Worked great, caught plenty of bass. No reason you can't.

Man. I'd love a DSI unit, and I fish from a kayak!! If you really feel it is overkill, you can, by all means go for a "cheapy" at Walmart, BPS, DSG, etc. Using my "cheapy" Garmin unit, I would absolutely love a DSI. But that's me.

I can cast further on my spinning gear than bait casting, but if I was in freespool on my bc, I might could beat my spinning gear. So yeah, if you have your BC dialed in to minimize backlashes, you'll not get the distance as on your spinning reel.

x2 Braid + Leader. And I've never had slack line issues with braid + leader. 10lb braid jumps at the slightest twitch...but in windy conditions, weights needed.

Just an interesting find, while browsing Tackle W'house I noticed the top 10 Classic finishers, of course Cliff Pace being a Shimano guy, but #10 Randy Howell used the new Daiwa Lexa 100 baitcasters.... A top 10 finish for a new reel is not too shabby. <-- tongue-in-cheek. [edit]
