  1. I would take a bps pro qualifier over a vendetta anyday, and have fished multiple of each rods. (I've since sold the vendettas). The pq can be had for $99
  2. I've never thrown swim jigs much until last year and would really like to ad them to my arsenal this year but have some questions first. 90% of the lakes i fish are clear water and I throw a TON of spinnerbaits, which my best color by far and away is chartreuse and white. Now my question is, besides chartreuse and white, what other colors have you had success with in clear water? Also what trailers have you found work best in clear water? Thanks for any help!
  3. No, you'll have much better success using a heavier jig, around 3/4-1 oz.
  4. Go for it!! Great rods, you'll be very happy!
  5. Wow, when i thought i had heard it all, the most asinine remark to date on BR. Thanks Wayne! I replace ALL my crankbait hooks with triple grips, on the red eye, 4 on front 2 on back.
  6. 1. Don't eat all day and eat a HUGE diner 2. Get Drunk 3. Watch a funny movie Follow those steps in order, it should work
  7. Does anyone know if they made/make any FLW or BASS series DVDs with all the tournaments on them from the entire year? And if so where you can buy them? I've looked and haven't found anything at all, so any help is appreciated! And it doesn't matter what year, anything will do.
  8. BPS Pro Qualifier. On-line they are listed as 139 but in the master 2011 catalog the regular price is 99. Cant be beat. I've abused 2 for the last 4 years and haven't had one issue. I'll be ordering 2 more this winter.
  9. Thanks for all the replies guys!!! And since we got off topic......Fireline braid? Do yourself a favor and get a spool of suffix or suffix 832.
  10. I hate to be that guy, but i'd save up another 30 and get a daiwa aggrest. This real is very smooth, will last you many many years, and when you get it set up will cast like a dream. I after 12 years i've finally rid myself if all my shimanos and quantums and now have only daiwas and i couldn't be happier!!
  11. Are those mustad hooks on those?
  12. Setting the hook is not at all important when fishing almost any moving bait. The problem with braid is that its too sensitive. You know when a fish hits a spinnerbait and there's almost a weightless feeling right before the ker-chunk? With braid, you feel that 100% and its far too easy to set the hook too soon. I love braid as much as anybody out there, but it has no place in spinnerbait fishing IMO.
  13. Please please please do NOT use any braid on your spinnerbait rods!!!! My suggestion for the spinnerbait rods is 1 6'6" MH and one 7' MH with 6.4:1 on both or one 6.4 and another 7.1 or 5.1 depending if you do more shallow fishing (7.1) or deep slow rolling (5.1). 15lb CXX on all of them.
  14. I"ve done a lot of searching on this forum (some great info by the way) about recoil guides and seems to be a lot of back and forth. Some people claim they groove with braid and wear the line out sooner, and others have used braid and claim to have no problems. I'm looking at getting a 6'10" Legend Extreme M/XF spinning rod for senkos, and will be using suffix braid exclusively on it. So before i drop some serious ching on this badboy, what are your opinions on the recoils? Thanks for your input and happy new year!
  15. Oakley, fishing specific, shallow blue. AMAZING
  16. Not an argument here, but i've used 15lb cxx exclusively for all spinnerbaits and chatterbaits the last 2 years and i am in LOVE with it! Will be trying 17lb for pitching this year.
  17. Slipknot6 posted a topic in Fishing Tackle
Are there any other flippin baits out there that are similar in color to breen chigger craws?
  18. 15lb p-line cx, by far my favorite line for crankin 3ft or less
  19. I've used it all and i choose suffix regardless of price
