Blanked- Everybody has given pretty good advice to your situation, but to give a simple explanation: dark colors absorb more light and vice versa for translucent baits. So, dark baits in muddy water stand out more than bright color(chartruese)baits or natural colors. Generally, muddy/stained water fish rely on their other senses(smell/sound) and they also need more time to locate your bait. Slow presentations have always worked for me. Black skirt spinnerbaits w/ dark blades slow rolled, black&blue jigs and anything junebug. If that doesn't work I will go to a Berkley 7" blue fleck worm. The dark purplish color along with the glitter absorbs as much light as any other dark colored. Insert a couple of small rattles or use a glass bead below your sinker. Use attractant as well.
