  13. Hey Bill. Yeah, I graduated high school with Anita. Small world, huh?
  14. A buddy and I made our first trip of the year today to a small lake about 15 minutes from the house. Fished from 1:30 til 5:30 and ended up catching 6 largemouth. Caught the first fish at 3:40, a nice, healthy, 15 incher. About three casts later, I felt a slight tick, reeled up some slack and set the hook on the beauty in the pic below. She ran hard to the left, went airborn, and then ran back to the right. After a nice fight, I lipped her and brought her aboard. Bonehead me forgot the scales!! She was 21 1/4" long and had a girth of just under 14". Pretty skinny, she hadn't even begun to fill out yet. Not surprising though, the ice just got off the lake 3 days ago. Nothing like some of the hawgs some of you guys down south catch, but she's a dandy for a buckeye!! The other five were all between 13" and 16" and all of them including the big one fell for a texas rigged electric blue sweet beaver. What a relief, the freakin' ice is gone and the bass are hittin'!! :D
  15. I would love to see it. I'd buy it the day it came out and maybe then I could get "unhooked" from Modern Warfare 2!! ;D ;D ;D
  16. Liked the Indiana and Maryland threads so I thought I'd try to start one for the Buckeyes. My name is Dan, I live in Woodsfield in SE Ohio. I mainly fish the Ohio River, Seneca, Tappan, and Salt Fork lakes, and some smaller lakes like Monroe, Slope Creek, and Wolf Run. I have 19 1/2 ft Javelin bass boat and a 14 ft. aluminum. I belong to a small bass club that has about 25 members. Lets hear from some more Buckeyes!!
  17. Thanks for the reply Deb. I read a little about the Venture River online. Sounds like a good time.
  18. Looking into maybe a four or five day vacation with the wife and kids at Lake Barkley, Kentucky. I've read a few articles on the net and everything sounds pretty decent. Anyone have any suggestions? Places to stay, things to do, best time of year, etc... Thanks for any info! Dan
  19. Green Pumpkin BPS Tender Tube Strike King Series 3 Sexy Shad 4" Green Pumpkin Dinger Wacky Style
  20. Thanx for the reply, guys. Ranger, $1.54 with rattles is awesome. Jig Man, I've never heard of the poison tail. Any more info? Brandon, sent you a pm regarding that catalog. I can't wait to get started. I fish a small club here in SE Ohio. We usually hit three or four different lakes and most of our tournaments are on the river. I use mainly 3/8 oz football and arkie styles. Once in a while, if the current is up, I'll go to 1/2 oz or a little heavier. Like the Booyah baby bugs, too. Again thanx for the help and if I need any more help I'll be in touch.
  21. I'd like to start making my own jigs and would like to have input on what mold to buy and also skirt material. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  22. Great point, fishfordollars, and very well said.
  23. I'm already planning on going up to Erie on Monday and Tuesday, May 17 and 18. Went to Ashtabula last year on the 25th and 26th of May and absolutely slayed em! Will see what dates you guys come up with and see what happens. I'd have one guy with me and could probably fit another no problem. Sounds like a good time.
  24. If you are going to BPS, get the Tourney Special combo. It's $79.95 and a great combo for the money.
