  1. Bought a couple of Compre rods off of a buddy of mine. Both casting, one is 6'6", med. power, med fast action and the other is 6'10", med/heavy power, extra fast action. Gave $50.00 a piece. Wondering if anybody has used the Compres and what they thought of them. Thanx for any input.

  3. I was at Cabela's in Wheeling W.Va. yesterday and they had the Ardent Smart Cull for $34.99.
  4. Just wondering if there are any other guys on here that fish the ohio river. If so, what's the latest you guys fish? I put my boat away Oct 21 and I think it was way too early. I've read articles in mags on internet forums about guys catchin 'em clear up til Christmas this year. There was a guy up around Pittsburgh that was still fishing. He said 10 plus fish days were common. Also, I need to learn more about fishing the original river channel, ledges if you will. Any good advice would be appreciated. I have fished a small club here on the river for the last two years. I've moved up in the standings pretty steady both years, but this year I want to really contend. I fish the bars, rip rap, chunk rock banks, etc..., But I think I need to check out the deeper water to take the next step. Like I said, any info and tips would be greatly appreciated.
  5. The next world record smallie will come exactly 18 miles from my house, right here on the great Ohio River!!! I've caught 100's over 11 1/2 and quite a few over 12!! Wait, those were inches not pounds!! Don't have a dog in this fight but I wouldn't rule out Cali, the Columbia or the Great Lakes. I would think that if it produced a 9 or 9 1/2, it could certainly get a couple of pounds heavier. You guys from those immediate areas just make sure you are grateful for living that close to a great smallie fishery. You could be stuck here fishing the Mighty Ohio like me !! :D
  6. Hey everybody! I'm from a small town in Southeastern Ohio. I fish a few local lakes but mainly the Ohio River. Belong to a small bass club. We fish about a dozen club tourneys a year. About 25 members. Live to bass fish and this ice is killin me!!!!
