  1. That's exactly the problem. There's only 9 houses in my "neighborhood". Plus I recently got a report saying that it will cost $58,000 just for the engineers to run some tests and workout some paperwork. And the people around just don't have the money.
  2. You should really try senko's, I have yet to fish a pond where the bass didn't tear them up. But I would also try white buzzbaits and texas-rigged tubes. Basically try to imitate whatever baitfish live in your pond. Hope this helps.
  3. Mainlake points and the backs of coves are really good places to fish during fall, follow the baitfish. Some really good baits are a white jerkbait, any crankbait that looks like a shad ( or possibly a trout in California ) and white buzzbaits. Hope this helps.
  4. Yes it was an earthen dam, the hole is about 30 feet across. The thing I'm really worried about is that the whole dam has big cracks in the dirt and we might have to rebuild the whole dam. ( I would like to not that the pictures were taken while standing on the dam )
  5. You can use tubes anywhere from finesse situations to heavy flippin'. For finesse you can put it on a jighead and drag it across the bottom but the most effective way is to texas-rig and work it just like a worm. Hope this helps.
  6. Last year during tropical storm Gaston we recieved 14 inches of rain in 6 hours. During this storm the water level in our 45 acre lake rose 3 feet and started to spill over the dam. Well at about 1 a.m. the dam finally gave way and water rushed through like a raging river. Now a year later I have seen cost estimates for rebuilding and it is insane, over $158,000, does anyone know how these costs can be cut. Any help is greatly appreciated. 7. Try berkley vanish, its cheaper than transition and its just as sensitive. Hope this helps.
  8. Summer and winter are the best seasons to be fishing deep, open water. Try a deep crank, carolina rig, or a drop-shot rig. And like mmhmmh said you have to be sure there is structure on the bottom Hope this helps
  9. One of the best techniques for fishing docks is skipping. Rig a tube or weightless trick worm and skip it way up under the dock. After you get skilled at this you can then try skipping jigs beneath docks. Hope this helps.
  10. I was talking to some buddies of mine at one of my bass club meetings and they said that there's a petition going around to make bass fishing a varsity sport at our county high schools, that's awesome...I mean bass fishing a varsity sport...life is sweet. ;D ;D ;D

I'm looking for an adult BASS club in or around the Mechanicsville/Richmond, Virginia area that would be willing to sponsor a youth BASS club. If so do you have any tips on starting a youth club. Thanks.
  12. A great way to fish vertical wood is to pitch a jig or tube to one of the trees and let it drop straight down for about 10 sec. then shake it and let it drop again. You may also want to try swimming a white jig through the trees, a senko, or a white spinnerbait
  13. Hi everyone, I jst registered here not to long ago ( I had to go to another forum after the Bassmaster forums went downhill) and I hope I will be welcome here Thanks.
