  1. Hello. This is my first post on here. I have been lurking for a while reading this thread and I would like to thank Catt and everyone else for sharing their knowledge. As for the area in question I could be wrong but there appears to be an old roadbed running along the deep water slot to the right of the point. Panning southwest in the topo view I see a similar slot directly in line with the one near the area in question. Coincidence? Maybe or maybe not. Looking north of the area on the satellite view I see an old road coming through the trees on shore running to the northwest then it appears to bend and run parallel with the slot. I also see offshore grass indicating a high spot. I believe the slot was formed by the presence of the road due to water running off the hill coming up against the road then running along side of it down toward Hurricane Bayou. So given the contour lines are at 10 foot intervals there could be as much as 9 feet of depth in the slot down below the 150 contour line and also the road bed could be as much as 9 feet above the giving an 18 foot ledge. Which in my opinion would be the sharpest break into the deepest water in the area.
