Fluorocarbon Knots
Shaw Grigsby "no name" knot. There's a couple videos on YouTube showing how to tie it. I think it's easier to tie than the San Diego jam and it's never failed me.

Shimano Users Questions On Size 50 Reels?
I have a Core 50 and I think it casts lures around the 1/8 Oz range a little better than a 200 will, but a lot of it depends on the rod you are using. If it won't load up then it doesn't matter what reel you're using. I love that little reel though. I had a Curado 50 and liked it but I just wish it came in a 7.0:1 ratio. Once you make a 50-60 yard cast with a smaller reel your ipt starts to suffer.

Fluorocarbon
Braid with a sunline sniper leader. Great castability and sensitivity.

What Size Fluorocarbon
Have you considered braid for your main line and a fluoro leader? I have a Recon 713C paired with a Core 50MG7 spooled with #20 power pro with a 6-8 ft of #10 Sunline sniper FC leader (probably could go lower but it's what I have at the moment) and I catch a lot of fish with ZERO problems. I use it for everything from weightless t-rigs to finesse jigs to drop shot and I feel it's super easy to cast with the low stretch quality of braid and the abrasion resistance and clear properties of fluoro. Something to think about. Just make sure you're tying a good line connection and you're set!

Curado 100D Roller Clutch Inner Tube
Never mind lol, I watched the shimano reel maintenance video on YouTube and figured it out. I was looking stage schematics wrong

Curado 100D Roller Clutch Inner Tube
I can tighten the drag down and it works, I looked at the schematics, it is supposed to go on after the roller bearing on the outside of the side plate correct?
-
Curado 100D Roller Clutch Inner Tube
I recently purchased a Curado 100d and after taking the handle off I noticed roller clutch inner tube (part #2394) was missing. Will this hurt the reel if it's missing and any idea why someone would remove it?

The Ultimate Rod And Reel
A custom Kistler Z Bone ML paired with a Core 50MG7 with a Yumeya BFS shallow spool for some finesse action.

Abu Garcia Vs Shimano Vs Lews
I would opt for the chronarch. I know a lot of guys love their lews, but I would feel more assured with Shimanos reliability and years of proven performance. Plus their customer service is to notch.

Shimano Core Spool Disassembly
I had a feeling you would suggest a Daiwa reel lol. I might have to give it a try

Shimano Core Spool Disassembly
Well, if you won't touch it then I won't either J. I'll hold out for the Bfs spool. Or, should I just sell the Core and buy a Pixy? By the time I purchase the spool I'll have close to $450 in the Core.

Shimano Core Spool Disassembly
I kind of had that feeling when I was looking at it, but I wanted some professional insight. On the japantackle website it says to use the brake holder from a stock spool so that's why I was asking. I guess I'll have to keep a eye open for the Bfs spool. Thanks DVT!

Shimano Core Spool Disassembly
Does anyone have any experience in disassembling the brake holder from the spool on a Shimano Core (or any Shimano for that matter)? I am looking at purchasing the Avail microcast spool but I will need to use the brake assembly from a stock spool. I would rather just purchase a Yumeya BFS spool but I can't find one in stock anywhere. Thanks in advance!

Help Removing Side Plate Bearing Daiwa Hsta
I'm having trouble removing the side plate bearing in my Daiwa HSTA. I've tried using the spool to try and pry it out while rocking it side to side but no luck. It seems to be in there pretty snug. What do you guys use to remove it?

Favorite Worm To Drop Shot
Roboworm Aarons magic 4 1/2"

Dropshot From The Bank
I'm actually going to do some drop shotting from shore today. I live in Florida and fish a lot of private ponds as well as public parks. I agree with the stick type sinker and you should also remember that when drop shotting from the shore the distance between the hook and sinker might need to be a little longer due to the different angle. I have had a lot of success with a 4" roboworm straight tail in Aarons magic color. Sometimes I'll just barely shake the line with just a slight bit of slackness, and sometimes just slowly dragging it a few inches will do the trick. I think is something a lot of pond bass just simply don't see and I have a ton of confidence in it. Try it and i'm sure you will have success!

Spool Bearings
Does anyone know what size bearings a Lews tourney pro takes?

Spool Bearings
I meant polishing, just making sure. Also, do you run your bearings dry or use oil?
