Recently the lake just thawed, which means the water temp is pretty cold. Are there any suggestions on how to fish a lake where the water is still in the 30's? Which baits to use, where to fish, how fast to fish...???

I'd like to get better at skipping my baits without backlashing.

I was catfishing in a small river, and reeled in a drum symbol.

Red Eye Shads are awesome. I typically dont fish them around any brush or submerged trees. I stick to using them around different grasses and weeds. I dont like to fish them too shallow, but if the conditions are right, they will work well there as well. I would definately go with gold and silver...based on the clarity of the water, and I have had a quite a bit of luck on green gizard color.

what is the temp of the water? the colder it is, the slower you have to fish it
