    +1 on this post!
  2. Pretty much agree with J Franco on this. Funny how some fishing equipment has no price ceiling but other stuff does. Guess everyone has their own ceiling on different things. I have used both Real Magic and KVD L&L and like them both. Guess I prefer the KVD L&L but I have no problem using the Real Magic also
  3. I will throw a lipless and I am kinda partial to Bill lewis Rattle Traps just about any time of the year--they are great search baits on points-mouths of rivers and creeks and also in front of or down the side of a long dock. Love them Rattle Traps!!
  4. Agree with roger--EX friend--life is too short for this kind of stuff--move on without him
  5. I tend to agree with this--it is not your job to get her a hobby so you can go fishing without feeling guilty but frosty is correct you need to get it resolved before your relationship goes to the permanent level because I do not think it will get any better with working it out--JMO

Agree with Rolo on this one--Do not know if it is a Florida "thing" or what but my plastic other than a few Gene Larew Biffle bugs that I also really like is made up of Gambler products--The Ace stickworm is--In my opinion-- just the as good as the GY senko and have found their Burner Craw and Crawdaddy to be the only craw lure I fish anymore besides the Cricket which is a great bait when conditions are tough. Their price is reasonable and I love the garlic scent on them. I really think the fish will hold it longer because of it. Just an excellent plastic lure company. Also another Florida company that makes pretty good products at a great price is Bitters Baits. They are pretty hard to find outside of Florida and the Southeast I think but they have a great website and they ship their stuff everywhere
  7. Agree with roger on this-^^^
  8. >Gambler Fat Ace >Gambler Ace >Yamamoto Flappin' Hog >Mann's Augertail worm >Mann's Jelly Worm >Gambler Burner Craw
  9. LOL--yes you know you are buying a lot when you get on first name basis with the UPS driver--mine is named Steve!

This is what I do also--Love Roboworms but I also wish they would improve their packaging
  11. I think a lot of my decision making on buying a high end rod has a lot more to do with my past experience with the rod company and how their rods have performed for me and their warranty than where it is made thou I have to say being made in the USA does figure in quite a bit when I am first considering purchasing a new rod from a different rod company. I am a Falcon rod fan and I have to say I am very sad to see them move their new SR line of rods to China. Falcon has always been USA made and to see them going away from that is disappointing to me. You do really have to research a rod if made overseas or made here in the USA is important to you. Some guys find that important and some do not. Me--yes and no, it is not a deal killer if it is made overseas but if everything else is equal on a couple rods and one is made overseas and one is USA made I am buying the rod made here
  12. my guess is you are going to get a different opinion from every post. Both are great rods and have a lot of loyal followers. I like the Falcon line of rods but this is more than likely something you are going to have to decide by handling both and making the final choice. This is like a Ford vs Chevy post. No one is wrong but no one is right. I think you will be happy either way.
  13. Lucky Craft lures are just about the only hard bait that I buy that I don't change the hooks out on them--that is one reason I spend the little extra for them because I find their hooks good out of the box-that and the fact that they are fish catching lures for me--great lures and good hooks out of the box. I like them a lot and generally are my first choice
  14. Was wondering what your opinion was on the Fuego--saw where you said you purchased one and I now see Daiwa is putting out a Fuego CT which looks interesting. Trying to get some reviews on the Fuego and Fuego CT Thanks
  15. I use the Yamamoto Senko a lot but like RoLo have found the Gambler Ace and Fat Ace to be a very good substitute for the Senko and is considerably cheaper. Really like Gambler products and the Ace and Fat Ace are always in the boat when I go out
  16. This has pretty much become my setup on all my outfits---Braid with a fluorocarbon leader--different tests for different outfits and needs but it sure has pretty much eliminated all loops and twists. works well for me
  17. Largemouth and that is why we love to catch them--because they put up "a heck of a fight"
  18. I believe Toxic was saying was that BPS does not manufacture any of their store brand not that they do not make any money on them. you are right -would not make much business sense to sell something and not make anything on the product
  19. Rolo, I just ordered and received an order from Mann's couple days ago--took the 8" black Augertails and 8" Black Grape Jelly worms with me to fish Big Crooked yesterday and had a very good day using them. Really like the Gambler 7" and Culprit 7.5" worms but I really love the Mann's worms--augertails and jelly worms both--always have good results with both Catt you are so right-was sad to see the Gator Tail stop being made. Zoom does make a similar worm but it is just not the same as the old Gator Tails
  20. Good deal if they do not jack the price up more than Spro already charges for their lures. good baits at a premium price now as far as I am concerned
  21. I am in total agreement with Darren. I think it is good to pay some attention to these things but I generally just go fishing whenever I can no matter the barometric pressure and I generally use darker hues because of my water clarity. Sometimes all the info can be fine but sometimes you need to just go fishing and make adjustments according to what the bass tell you
  22. you say you do not need the 1.5 oz weight but that just might be what you have to go to so you can get thru the vegetation. You need to go as heavy as needed to get through the heavy stuff. You want to use just enough to get you through it and that might even call for heavier than 1.5 oz As far as the rod you will need something rated for the weight you are pitching. You can use any length of rod that feels good to you as long as it can handle the weight you are pitching. I prefer a 7' 3'' rod myself but that is just personal preference. what ever length you are comfortable using will pretty much work
  23. Agree with ghoti--always have T-rig tied on an outfit and on the deck of my boat
  24. No what I meant was I could have saved a lot of money that WAS spent on trying to find a clip on pair or some that were worn over my prescription glasses that could have been applied to the cost of prescription sunglasses. I know prescription glasses are insane in price but I bought the sunglasses with a pair of regular glasses and the 2nd pair-the sunglasses-which I did not need bifocals in were much more reasonable when bought together. Agree eyeglasses are stupid high in cost but they know you need them. I have no idea what your needs are in eyeglasses but I know I did not pay $500 for both pairs of mine
  25. exactly what I did! got tired of spending money trying different sunglasses and clip ons. I should have gone and got a polarized pair from the optometrist in the first place. Could have saved a lot of money that would have gone towards a correct solution to the issue and saved a lot of frustration trying to find something that works
