  1. Fluorocarbon leader with braid is the way I have gone also--so much better than straight FC in my fishing!!
  2. Mike for sure!! great videos!
  3. I get Bassmaster--Bass Times--FLW{bass} I feel like I get enough reading info out of these 3 to renew when it is time--I have had a subscription to about all of them at one time or another over the years and some were pretty good and then drooped in quality of info-to me-and I have settled on these 3--I renew when they send out their "special" renewal offers which makes them pretty affordable
  4. It is just JMO but I think Powell made a huge mistake when they discontinued the Endurance line--a great rod at a very good price range as far as I am concerned
  5. I have some Red-eye shads that I like but I still find myself reaching for the "old Rattle Trap" the most--have caught a lot of bass on the rattle-traps over the years
  6. Have to agree--Love my Kistler's but the Lime green grips and wraps are a deal killer for me--hate it because I was waiting to see the new line Of American made Mags but I am not a fan of Lime Green--JMO
  7. Think you would be happy with the XH 7'6" for punching and flipping thick grass--that is what I use to flip and pitch in Florida with--the 7'11" XH is a real beast but I guess I am too short for that length--7'6" XH does a great job for me but everyone has their own ideas--glad I went ahead and bought my first Halo despite the reviews I read--have been very happy with all of my Halo's
  8. I have both the Daylight and Twilight models in different sizes--have to say for what Tackle Warehouse has them discounted to you are getting a very good rod--they are clearing out the original line to make room for the new series--great prices on a very good rod
  9. I do not think anything else works as well as a true Senko but I have been using the Gambler Ace a lot recently and they seem [to me] a very very close 2nd to Gary's Senko and they are also considerably less expensive than Yamamoto's bait--understand sometimes you just have to grin and bear it when it comes to price but I am always experimenting with other "stick" baits as far as price
  10. This is what I use also--fluoro leader of any length of your choice--find this to be best setup for spinning reels--no line twist and you can use a heavier poundage on your spinning reel by using braid--I use spinning outfits a whole lot more since I made the change to this setup
  11. Same here--New Cabela's store just down the road--it also has my Dick's Sporting Good store beat hands down but that is not saying much--My Dick's Sporting use to have a pretty good hunting and fishing but it has slowly gone by the wayside to make room for more clothes and shoes--very seldom even go there anymore-just stop in once in a while to see if it is still as bad as it was
  12. Hootie, I have visited several of the Cabela's stores around the country including their "home" store in Nebraska--never have been impressed with them--I always thought their prices were higher than BPS and I include Gander mountain in that thinking--nothing wrong with any of them--I just do not go to Cabela's or Gander Mountain anymore because they are higher priced if they have what you are looking for--we did get a Field and Stream store close to me and I am fairly impressed with their selection and prices so far--time will tell if it lasts--I did not go to the Grand opening of the Cabela's store you are talking about--kind of figured between the crowd and prices I did not miss much
  13. Would you save me some? think we are going to need it
  14. we should be glad Erika broke up and is just a rain event
  15. My skin doctor is an advocate of sun block clothing--she told me the whole deal--neck buff--gloves--sun shirts--said if you put these things on you do not have to worry about forgetting to keep applying sun block--I for one use the clothing--do not like putting sunscreen on if I do remember to do it!! LOL---I am getting older and thought some of the spots I have on my arms and back of my hands were 'old age" spots--she said nope--they are from the sun and it is not good! Decided to start using the clothing!!
  16. Yep--this has pretty much always been my findings too--then if you are ordering from Bass Pro online you have to add in the shipping that sometimes is not free--at least with TW you know going in if you buy $50 the shipping is free and we all know how easy it is to get a $50 order
  17. Love this--could not agree more!!!
  18. I think the more you practice the distance will come to you--just keep working at the accuracy part and you will see the distance come along with it
