Starter batteries
I have a 2005 mercury xr-6 that I recently replaced the starter battery for. I took out a deka battery that the dealer installed and replaced it with a bass pro shops brand that ( on paper ) was supposed to be more powerful !! I was in a tx yesterday and started putting fish in the livewell at 8 A.M and by 10:30 my starter battery was dead. Fortunately there was enough power to supply my livewell pumps or I would really be upset. I was only running 1 gps/sonar unit too. Should I go back to the old brand ? Have any of you had similar problems with BPS batteries ?

Buying a new tournament caliber boat - need some guidance
all that and you didn't even buy a Ranger ?......... Strange !

Pokomoke River
the goog thing about the pok is that the patterns are fairly consistant. I usually have my best luck around snow hill, goat island, and the bridge. I use Mann's hardnose finesse worms and dark colored 1/4 oz jigs. Tide is crucial. Smack dab between high and low tide is the best 2 hours of fishing on this river. Good luck !

Buying a new tournament caliber boat - need some guidance
I'm a Ranger / Merc man myself. That being said, Skeeters are excellent boats and more affordable than Ranger. My best advice would be to take a look at the pro's. They wouldn't use junk, well maybe some would because they're being paid by big retail co's . One issue I haven't heard anyone else mention is the trailer. That is actually what gets you there in the first place. Good luck my friend.

Skeeter Trailer problems
Do any of you fellas have problems loading your skeeters on the trailer ? The problem my friends are having is that when they are loading on most ramps the nose of the boat comes in lower than the nose cushion of the trailer. If they aren't careful I'm sure they are going to damage their t-motor.

Latest hot spot for smallies
Hey fellas, I am going to be taking some buddies of mine from my bass club here in Baltimore on a smallie trip this spring. As a teenager my dad & I used to fish 1000 Islands ( Chipawa Bay to be exact ) and we used to catch hundreds of them. We fished up there in the mid eighties so I'm sure things have changed. I have seen and heard of many other places that are as good or better and I would like to know where the best place is these days. I've got my reputation on the line here so please help !!

Ranger 188vs Question
I HAVE A RANGER 185VS WITH A 150 XR-6 THAT WILL DO 60 MPH ( GPS ) PLUS OR MINUS 2 OR 3 MPH DEPENDING ON CONDITIONS. YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GET A COUPLE MORE MPH'S OUT OF YOURS. AS FAR AS TROLLING MOTOR BATTERIES, THEY SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE SALE PRICE.

Hey guys how was your year??
I TOO WAS RE-INTRODUCED TO BASSIN AFTER A 15 YEAR ABSENCE. I BOUGHT A NEW RANGER, BOUGHT TONS OF TACKLE AND HAD A FAIR AMOUNT OF SUCCESS. I FISHED A COUPLE OF TOURNAMENTS TO GET SOME EXPERIENCE, JOINED THE FISHERS OF MEN TRAIL FOR 2006 WHICH MY PARTNER ( ALSO MY WIFE ) AND I ARE VERY EXCITED ABOUT . AS FOR MY BIGGEST, IT WAS ABOUT 4 LBS, CAUGHT ON A 1/2 Oz AIKENS JIG AT A LOCAL POND BUT CAUGHT PLENTY OF 1-1/2 - 3 LB'RS FISHING THE POTOMAC & RIVERS FEEDING THE CHESAPEAKE BAY.

150 xr-6 vs. yamaha v-max 175
I currently have a 150 xr-6 on my boat and was wondering it would be worth it to sell it outright & get a yamaha v-max 175 to try & get a few more mph's. The merc is still pratically brand new ( less than 20 hours ) ANY IDEAS ?

What are you going focus on in 2006?
MY MAIN GOAL IS TO BE SLOWER & MORE DILIGENT AROUND STRUCTURE, ESPECIALLY WHEN FLIPPING & PITCHING. AND TO GET MY WIFE TO CATCH THAT 6 LB'R THAT SHE DOESN'T THINK IS OUT THERE !!

Books on Bass
I reading some of you fellow bass anglers posts over the past months I have noticed that some of you guys are very knowledgable and would like to ask an important question. If you had one or two books to read on LM & SM Bass, what would it be ?

Nitro's
I have a 2005 Ranger 185 VS with a Merc 150 XR-6 and I bet you would be surprised what you can get that boat for !! My only suggestion to you is to seriously consider the following before spend that kind of money. 1. Reliability 2. Warranty 3. Re-Sale ( you will want a larger boat someday ) 4. Performance ( I suggest test driving as many boats as possible ) Hope this helps !

NEED SOME HELP WITH JIGS!!
P-line spectrex 10/50 braided for thick cover or P-Line cxx mossy in 15Lb for all other conditions.

NEED SOME HELP WITH JIGS!!
I fish quite often with jigs in all climate conditions and all types of structures. Unfortunately losing lures is part of the deal. I have found that jigs with a round head are better for releasing through heavy cover like tree-tops, buck brush and even rocks. You may also want to go to a lighter weight which will not only move through heavy cover easily but will give you a better feel for strikes and a slower rate of fall to trigger strikes. Hope this helps !

Golf course ponds!!!
as a retired golfer & born-again bass fisherman I can attest to the fact that most golf course ponds have lunkers in them and that most golf courses are .....let's say difficult ...... to approach. The best piece of advice I can give anybody who wants to do this is to first ascertain whether or not the course is public or private. If it is public you stand a much greater chance of fishing it. You will probably have to settle for fishing it during the last minutes of daylight though. Don't go to the club pro, go to the head greenskeeper for permission. Oh, by the way LBH, I like your style !
