  1. That was the test run. The jigs that are painted where done with the new improvements. The machine shop did my 3/8 slot, and it turned out great. Thanks Smalljaw67 for the adivce! These are the one cut by the machine shop.
  2. Got my molds back from the machine shop. Poured some, and all was good. I’ll post some picks of the completed product in a few.
  3. There’s definitely some improvements to be made on my mold modifications, but I don’t think it turned out to bad. That’s. 1/4 oz with a 4/0 heavy wire VMC hook. I am taking the mold to a local machine shop, to see if they can tweak the 3/8oz slot for me.
  4. Hey dudes! I am about to modify a that mold, and I have the shank part figured out, but I am not sure how I am going to tackle the hook eye part of the mold, any suggestions? The hook I am going to use is the VMC 7217 4/0 30 degree hook. I am going to try to modify the 1/4 oz first to fit the Mustad 32886 4/0 hook and if I am successful, I am going to "modify" the 3/8oz and 1/2oz. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
  5. Thanks guy for all the responses!
  6. What’s the verdict on these? Specifically the Matzuo 152 Sickle Jig Hooks. Have any of you may have used them on flipping jigs? If so, how did they work for you? I just picked up some 5/0 to test, and was just wondering if y’all had any experience with them. Any pros and cons you guys have with these hooks? Thanks,
  7. I found it on eBay. I’ll get you the name in a few.
  8. This is definitely going in the panic box. Owner 3/0 3X hook, 1/4oz.
  9. I just got the molds, waiting on the hooks to get home! CADMAN's stuff looks amazing!
  10. Thanks man! You guys that do this for a living are true artist! Youtube vids makes the process look so easy, but there a whole lot more to it!!!!..lol.... I still have to tweak my fluid bed. I made a mess!!!! Thank's man! I need to post a picture of the fist jig I dipped before I made the fluid bed. They came out looking like the jig had a rhino horn! Picture below is a completed Jig.
  11. First time jig pourer. These are my first jigs ever!! I am waiting on the epoxy to cure. Jigs shown are 1/2oz with a 4/0 Owner 3X 5317 jig hook. Thanks Jigman for the advice. I’ll post some pictures of the completed product. I got the powder all over my shop, and there is powder all over the hook eye. Looking forward in learning more of this stuff. I looked like a medieval Knight, fighting the crusades. I had on every piece of safety equipment there was. I guess I have found another black hole to throw money at!
  12. That sounds like a great idea. I will definitely try that.
  13. Thanks man, will do!
  14. Looks like I'll have to modify the mold. Besides going real slow, do you have any advise, tips, or tricks to modify the mold?
  15. I gotcha. the mold I want is the PTJ-3-AFS 3/8 ounce mainly. the Jig will be swam mainly, but I would like to have the option to change out the trailer and flip with it if needed. I am calling Barlow's in a few to ask them regarding the SMJ-3-MF the grass weedless jig, and ask them if that VMC 7217 fits it. Again, thanks for all the help and knowledge.
  16. Thanks again, you've have helped me ton.
  17. You would't have a 4/0 VMC 7217 laying around there you could check in that mold would you?? Does hook thickness affect the mold at all? Or as long as its the proper angle it will fit?
  18. Thank you, Thank you! I will ordering the mold!! That really was my hangup on this mold. I just started pouring jigs, and I am trying to catch up with "hook Language".
  19. Thats a 30 degree bend, not a 28 degree. I don't think it will fit in the Do-It mold. Am I wrong? Can I use a 30 degree jig hook in a poison tail mold?
  20. Has anyone with the do-it poison head jig mold have used the Gamakatsu Superline Spring Lock Hook? Does it fit? Do you like it? I need a stout hook for braided line. If you guys know of another 28 degree heavy wire hook let me know.
  21. Thank you so much! I will definitely look into those. Those sickle hooks look amazing!!
  22. I am going in on making my own Flipping jigs, and my question is if this hook can handle heavy braid? I've read some reviews on different websites, but nothing concrete on braided line. I throw 100% braid on my bottom contact lures and I have had issues with some "flipping Jigs" bending out hooks. I currently use Hack Attack jigs and love them, but I really want to make my own.
  23. Went in to buy one pack of Gammy Flipping hooks, they were out. So I spent 112.00 dollars on random fishing lures and terminal tackle I’ve been wanting.
  24. checking them out now!
  25. Hey guys! I would like to purchase some custom flipping jigs. I have attached some pictures below that references what I need. Essentially I want a small compact jig, in 3/8 or 1/2 oz. I need a stout hook! I have looked all over the web to try and find something that fits this niche, but I cannot find one. I've been buying the strike King Bitsy Flip and re-skirting them to my liking. Although the Bitsy Flip is ok, I would like a custom jig for myself. The angle of line tie of the Bitsy flipping jig is perfect, and the only two colors of the head I would need would be black head and a green head. Weights needed are 3/8 and 1/2oz. No skirt needed. I need a strong hook that can stand braided line. As far as head design goes, I would like a flipping head but that can stand on the bottom. I have no clue what size hook is on the Bitsy Flipping Jig, but that size is perfect! I would buy enough to make it your wild! If you are intrested in making these please let know here via PM or by phone at 478-232- four four 5 six. The writing on the paper in the picture is not correct, the one that is marked 3/8 is actually 1/2oz.
