  1. Well pull up a chair and lend an ear! Welcome aboard.
  2. Jar11591, are you still with us? You didn't jump off the bridge because of last night, did you? I kid I kid. Your starting pitcher was dealing last night, hard to believe all those errors commited at the end. You brought up another interesting thing about baseball; all the phases: A can of corn, I beleive was a soft fly ball to the outfield caught for an out Battery, the pitcher and catcher The dish, home plate The bump or the hill, pichers mound Ducks in the pond, players on base Chin music or high cheese, pitch thrown up and in to a batter The list goes on and on and I can't get enough of it...LOL
  3. I'm the same as you, just a general love for the game. On Father's Day I'll be at the Pawtucket (AAA) Red Sox Game with my wife and 2 kids. We're really looking forward to it! If you think about that Padres/Royals game you mentioned in your post, the 2 teams are about the same so it would more than likely be a real good game to watch!
  4. Seeing how you know so much about the Red Sox and you defended the free agency issue so well, it's not too late to join Red Sox Nation?!?!
  5. Every team has a core group of home grown players and fill the holes through free agency. Although with an attached draft pick, you'll probably see teams that maintain home grown players like it was back in the 70's, I believe the last decade before free agency.

Happy birthday! I'm knocking on the half century door and know exacty what you mean. Nostalgia for me was growing up and having taco night usually one Saturday a month. It was a fav of mine. I think what made it special was, everyone in the family had a job in the preparation of the meal. It was a lot of fun to do as a kid.
  7. Have fun at the game tonight and wear something warm, it's gonna be a cold one tonight! Sox win 2 and now the news peeps are reporting a "winning streak"!? Seriously folks, they just dropped 10 in a row, can you wait until they win like 4 or 5 in a row before you climb back on the band wagon!

I find it funny he would write a check for $6 for the profit made on the brew!
  9. I can honestly say I never had scrapple, I think I saw what it looks like on TV...well, the old saying is, you eat with your eyes.
  10. I always thought you were full of $h1t
  11. You know, I forgot you were a Braves fan, that must have been a tough one to watch. Funny, my dad was employed by the Braves when they were the Boston Braves. He was part of the field staff maintaining the grounds.
  12. BMI should be takened with a grain of salt. Most running backs, elite ones anyway, will have very low, single digit fat percentages and jacked with muscle and will register as obese. Just remember, muscle weighs more than fat .
  13. Finally, after losing 10 in a row, the Red Sox had a nice come from behind win!
  14. Glad to have ya!
  15. Pull up a chair and lend an ear, I'm sure you'll learn a few things! Welcome aboard.

  20. It's funny how much you become reliant to safety glasses. I was doing a porch project to my dad's home last summer and I was cutting on my electric miter saw and grabbed my safety glasses. My cousin made a comment about them and my response was: "I was only equipped with these 2 eyes and don't have any spares!" The safety glasses are much better now than when we were first required to wear them, IMO.
  21. You certainly were pretty lucky! I've had one or two of those wake-up calls myself through the years. Certainly makes you more aware when you do things like this again.
  22. There are misconceptions sometimes as to what the items we wear out in the field and appurtenances constructed to satisfy safety requirements. Hard hats aren't designed to stop a wide flange beam dropping on your head if the beam were to fall from above, hard hats are designed to protect your head from small items like drywall screws falling from above while a wall is being constructed (just an example). Temporary safety rails constructed around an elevator shaft isn't designed to stop you from falling down the shaft under any and all conditions, they will make you aware of the opening when you get near (just an example). There are items you where that are designed to stop you from getting hurt, a safety harness comes to mind for fall protection. Those gloves your referring to Raider, is a new one on me, I don't have that type of construction experience of working in a power plant. I'm sure they are being touted as and end all, be all, but me thinks they are design to prevent most types of injuries, but not all. Take it for what it's worth. BTW, JMHO
