  1. Sure, feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. I'd be glad to try and help out.
  2. Hey all, During the spring/summer I often frequent two spots on the Rapidan during the weekends. I am wondering if anyone else would like to trade places. I tend to mainly flyfish the Rapidan, however some of the wider and deeper areas I'll use my spin setup. feel free to PM me to trade locations. P.S. the river was very nasty this weekend so I'm assuming two more weeks without bad weather to smooth things out. Thanks!
  3. With taxes as high as they are in Prince William County, and the City of Manasses I won't be surprised if they (City of Manassas) pony up and go to court.
  4. He's talking about Gainesville, Florida. 8-)
  5. This just happened to me last week in a NOVA pond I fish. A ~25lb snapping turtle gulped up my senko, saw him come towards the shore then the line broke 18lb braided. It was fun to say the least, but I hope the turtle is Ok ;D
  6. I live in Gainesville, and I usually end up at Brittle only because its close to the house. I know a few spots that hold bass 90% of the time on the lake but anything near the shore points that is easily fishable gets pressured too much to hold fish in my opinion. I usually spend my weekends in the Rapidan, Shenandoah or the Rappahannock.
  7. No one on this board fishes the Rapidan? Either way shameless bump.
  8. Hey all, I have favorite go to spot on the Rapidan that I like to fish. I mainly fly fish when I can but always carry a spinning rod with me when needed. I like to fish the Culpeper-ish area of the river. My question is, I've been prodding around the river looking for good points to fish (no boat, buying house) where I can wade but all I find is no trespassing signs . I am willing to trade secret places for others.
  9. Ive seen worse, undesirables using their forearm as a rod to house all their string. A bobber is usually attached to the end.
  10. Great I'll give them a try tomorrow, and update.
  11. Hey all, I'm on TDY for work near the Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area and my wife and I are wondering if there are a few lakes or rivers we can fly fish in. I will be here for another two weeks and packed my fly fishing gear. Is there a place within an hours drive where we could rent a jon boat or kayaks. Even a place that has decent shore fishing would be great. Any and all help is appreciated. P.S We are from the Northern VA DC metro area and love it down here! 8-)
  12. Couldn't have said it better myself, they really, really suck! ;D Sorry if I can not read sarcasm on the interwebs, but this is a joke yes? I was planning on trying out a few buzzbaits this weekend on the Shenandoah.
