  1. Thank you. This post, and long Mike' post confirm my theory. It don't make a dang difference. Hootie

There was a paddle tail worm back in the 70's called, JW's Ding a ling. Could be them. Who knows. Hootie
  3. Just got into jig fishing this year. I noticed that lately, my jig bite seems to have fallen off. Are jigs not a good choice this time of year? Should I be using bigger jigs, smaller jigs, or no jigs at all right now. Hootie
  4. First, I understand tip heavy. What I don't understand, is, why it's such a big deal. Isn't a non tip heavy rig, only non tip heavy when it's standing in the corner? As soon as I tie on a bait, aren't I back to tip heavy again? I guess I'm just not that affected by the subtle difference it makes. After all, I only going to try to hang a 5# bass on the end of it. Now that's tip heavy. Hootie
  5. I'll get a check one of these days. lol Hootie
  6. I am inclined to agree, 2 bad ones. I'll wait a while till some new ones come in and try again. Being that I work at BPS, I'll know when we get in a new supply. Hootie
  7. Yes, did the clean and lube on the first one and didn't help. Didn't bother with the second one. By the way, this wasn't just hold the reel in my hand and turn the handle, I actually fished with both these these reels a couple of days. At one point, my son, fishing from the back of the boat, asked what the heck is wrong with that reel. He could hear it. Hootie
  8. I have 2 of the Chronarch 200E series reels, both very quiet and smooth. So, I thought I might try me a small 50E. This thing was so grindy noisy on the retrieve, that I took it back and exchanged it. The next one was exactly the same. Took it back and got a refund. Are the 50's typically noisy, or did I get 2 duds in row? I really wanted to lile this reel, but no way did I want all the racket. Hootie
  9. Found em. When you said out of Ohio, I knew exactly where you were talking about, and I think I like that bruise color as well. Hootie
  10. Clicked on the link. It says module not found. Hootie
  11. Do whole topics get removed? Was reading and commenting on one in another section and it completely disappeared. I have seen them locked, but never removed Hootie
  12. Was that a shot?.......lol Hootie
  13. Glad to hear that. Hope you are right. Matter of fact, I'm betting you're right. Thanks, Hootie
  14. Yes, took the clip off, looked good. Scraped the battery post, even though it didn't look like it needed it. This morning at home, I removed both clips stripped the wire again, and soldered both back to the clips. Before the wires were just jammed in and the clips crimped over the wires. Thought maybe it wasn't making a good connection, and maybe that was the problem. Wont be able to try it out till Saturday. Hootie
  15. I am not sure I am posting this in the right section. Yesterday while running my trolling motor, the negative cable began smoking right at the battery. Let me explain, I fish from a small rental boat and the motor connects to the battery with clips, like the ones on a battery charger. Any ideas as to what is causing this? Hootie
  16. Agreed. I have 6 Lews TSS's, and 2 Chronarch 200E 6's. Both AWESOME reels. I am not loyal to brands, but I sure am good to myself! On the other hand, I am partial to my Dobyns rods. Hootie
  17. When someone is really dedicated to a certain product, like Capt. Bob, with his St. Croix rods, or LMG with his Shimano reels, it may be they know what they are talking about. LMG, over and over with those reels, convinced me to take a look. I wound up with 2 Chronarchs. Couldn't be happier with them. Experience has got to count for something. Hootie
  18. Opinions are like..........well you know the rest. I think, one thing I have come to realize in my 67 years, is that people know that they are entitled to their own opinion and they are happy with that. But what really irritates some people, is the fact that they aren't entitled to your opinion also. Hootie, Waxing philosophical. lol
  19. I too, use the garlic spray. I always spray a little on my hands before I start fishing. Smelly hands problem solved. Would NOT do that with the crawfish, or shad spray though. YUCK!!! Hootie
  20. How long does it take for turnover to complete once it starts. For the record I am talking about a small lake of 150 acres. Thanks, Hootie
  21. The Savvys are great rods. I have 4 of them. That's what made me want to jump up a notch just to see. Never owned a $200.00+ rod in my life. This thing is really sweet. I might be in line for another one for Christmas. Someone please forward this to my wife. lol Hootie
  22. Just got it about an hour ago. Really looks great. Had it out in the back yard. Love it. The lake tomorrow. Hootie
  23. OUCH!! Double OUCH!!!!! Hootie
  24. Spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits, and oh, did I mention spinnerbaits! Hootie
