  1. Well, you just called me cheap, lazy, selfish, and irresponsible. And I'm one of your favorites. My sympathy to the guys you don't like....WOW!! Hootie
  2. Just placed an order for some solid brass worm weights. Thanks Jeff. Hootie
  3. Where will you be per pack after shipping?....Right at $11.00 I just checked. That is if I ordered one pack. Still $7.50 a pack if I ordered all he has. Hootie
  4. If you are near a Bass Pro Shop, take the reels back. There is more than a good chance that they will replace them. (Former BPS employee). Hootie
  5. You are absolutely correct. And the only way for me to do that, is to use weights that I don't mind mind losing...lol. Hootie
  6. I've had it with tungsten. To dad blamed expensive for how fast I go through them. Three packs in two days. At $9.00 bucks a pack.....NO! I probably have enough to get me through this season, then it's back to lead. I know you might say, you have expensive rods and reels. That's true, and at the end of the season, I will still have them. Not so, the tungsten. Last trip I alternated between tungsten and lead. I didn't notice any difference, except I didn't cringe after losing a lead weight. As I have stated before, the lake I fish is seriously snag infested. Imagine if the lake you were fishing had the bottom entirely covered with barbed wire. Well, maybe it's not quite that bad, but it's BAD!...SO, it's bye bye tungsten and hello lead...GAME OVER! !! Hootie P.S...I like losing weight, but not like that....lol.
  7. Isn't it neat how we get crazy over silly details.....I love this stuff! Hootie
  8. I noticed that you referred to the Curado I as a "semi-decent" reel. It's much better than that. My opinion, there is no better reel in its price range. Concerning the rod, like someone has suggested, if you don't want to spend a lot of money right now, the Berkley lightning rod would be a good choice. Hootie
  9. Spend the money, and you won't have to spend it twice. Hootie
  10. The first fluoro I ever used was Vanish. Bought it because it was the cheapest. Never ever had a problem with it. The first fluoro I ever had a problem with was Seaguar. Ironically, Seaguar is all I use now. If I had pitched it because of my first experience, I would be missing out on a good line. I just recently got a spool of Seaguar that had broken places as it was coming off the spool. Just threw it out. It didn't turn me against Seaguar. It's just a fact, that sometimes you're going to get an apple with a worm in it. That's life...lol. Hootie

  13. You use $1.00 spinnerbaits, and he uses $10.00 spinnerbaits, so what, use what you want...lol. Hootie
  14. WOW!....Your hand is twice the size of your head. Hootie
  15. I have both and it don't make a great difference to me. But if I had to choose, I would have to go with the full grip. Hootie
  16. My new, never used it before lure is a 4" tube. Venom Tube to be exact. I had never fished any kind of tube before this year. I have been catching a lot of bass on that tube. Hootie
  17. Thanks guys, a lot of interesting responses here. The only technique specific rods I have are G Loomis J&W rods, 4 to be exact. They get used for that purpose only, because that is what I am fishing 90% of the time. I also have a Loomis spinnerbait rod that is strictly spinnerbaits. Tried a crankbait on it once, liked it better as a spinnerbait rod. If I am remembering correctly, I think the first ever technique specific bass rod came back in the late 60's, or early 70's. It was called a "WORM ROD". Hootie
  18. Question, when you buy a technique specific rod, do you use it only for it's designated purpose, or do you let it do multiple jobs. Just wondering. Hootie
  19. Believe for the best and above all, don't speak anything negative about your circumstances. Hope for, and expect full recovery. Don't let anyone tell you not to get your hopes up. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for". Your hope is what feeds your faith. Don't listen to anyone's horror stories, such as,...well I knew someone who....blah, blah, blah. My prayers and best wishes go with you. Hootie
  20. League of Michigan Bicyclists, well how about that. If I hadn't googled it I would have never known. Hootie
