Philly Fishing
Lots of good fishing in the area. Lots of lakes, rivers, streams & ponds. The Delaware and Skuke also get migratory species like shad and striped bass, with some monsters in the spring that can be caught from the shore. There is a TV show called City Limits Fishing on .vs which does an episode on Philadelphia. The Jersey shore is an hour ride away if you like salt water, buses and trains go from Philly to Atlantic City several times daily. Good luck!

Ever catch the same fish twice?
never with a bass, but have caught the same panfish with my 5yr old numerous times.

Scumbag update
Got what they deserve! The need to do stuff like that for the guys who are doing that to stripers too.

Have you ever caught a bass with someone else lure in it's mouth?
that's something I always wondered about. I think I could have filled all the tackle boxes in south jersey with all the gear I've lost.

Look what I found
Looks like it would be fun to catch, I've only seen them in aquariums. Don't think they come this far north.

Setting up a canoe for fishing
Those are some nice set ups! I see I have a lot of planning to do. Has anyone tried the Humminbird portable depth finder with sidescan. It costs a little over $100. Is this suffucient or should I go with a more permanent set up?

Setting up a canoe for fishing
I just acquired a 17ft fiberglass canoe and am going to set it up as best I can for fishing. Anyone have any advice or ideas for ways to rig it up (pics would be great if you have a canoe)? How big of a trolling motor would be sufficient? I am a big guy and may have a big guy with me the label on the hull says it will float 700 lbs (not that I am going to try.)

Clubs in NJ
I was wondering if there were any clubs in southern NJ in the Deptford/Cherry Hill area. Open to travel some if you are not too far away. Thanks.

New in NJ
Hi everybody! My name is Jay & I am in the Philadelphia suburban area of southern NJ. I did some freshwater growing up but mostly salt water (grew up at the shore). I have now got back in to freshwater with my 5 yr old son and we have been fishing local lakes, ponds, creeks & the Delaware River.
