How was does the 704 fish Senkos? I have a medium st croix for senkos but would be nice if the 704c was able to fish everything from senkos, texas rigged, to jigs well!

Well, I ended up ordering a Dobyns Savvy 704C. I will let you now first impressions once I get it from TW. It was a toss up between the 703C and 704C and decided to go with heavier rod. Hopefully it fits my needs well!

That daiwa is a nice lookin rod..great deal too!

Hello All, I am looking for a new baitcasting rod for jigs and worms. I dont want to spend more than 120 bucks....I may do 150. I have been looking at the St. Croix Mojo Jig and Worm rod but wanted to see if you guys has any other suggestions. Thanks

Its a tough lake to fish..always has been but there are some big ole fish in there.

Just back into fishing and purchased some 5inch Yamamoto Senkos. I went out today and had it weightless texes rig. Do you fish these like a plastic worm? I tried jerking them a few times then reeling up the slack, then jerking again. I never really let it sink to bottom. I didnt see much action to the bait itself so I felt like I didnt know what I was doing. How do you guys fish senkos? Do you let it sink to bottom, jerk, reel slack and do it all over again? How long do you let sit on bottom if you do? Thanks

First post here, Been out of fishing for a long time and wanted to get back into it. I went out last night and purchased a St. Croix Triumph 7' M. They didnt have a good reel selection so I deferred the reel purchase. I have been looking online but need some guideance. Was a big fan of Shimano, are they still pretty good? How are they compared to Quantum or Okuma? I was looking at the Stradic FI spinning, but seems most places online only carry up to the 3000FI (10lb tst max). The rod is rated up to 12lbs max, do you think I can pull off the 12lb test with todays line on the 3000FI or do I need to bump up to the 5000FI? Thanks or any input or recommendations.
