  1. SOME AWESOME INFO . i have taken notes !!! I would also add that i would try anything in my box. At night a nice big 1/2 inch black jitterbug if there are spots that are open with no weds on the surface. Also a big loud zara spook with the nocker pellets inside. Sometimes i feel the big girls wont touch a little snack but they will suck down a nice meal. Also a buzz bait whipped across the top might bring you something to write about. Basically i throw what i know and i experiment if that stuff doesnt get me anything. Some times i still end up skunked, but i always have fun.
  2. have you tried? where to put in a canoe?
  3. How did you do at Spoffard?
  4. My son and i want to catch a big Pike and a Walleye. We are in the Nashua and Concord areas. Where are our best bets for them? Driving from the Southern NH area? We have a 12 ft jon boat with a 5 hp motor and a troller
  5. there are bass in mill pond. put the canoe in for a few hours. with paddles no motor. they had the dredging machine in maybe 2 months ago ripping out a lot of crap
  6. I am just throwing this out there for anyone who may have a way to get into Cobbets legally or Gumpas pond. I can be there by 4:30 most mornings if any of you go that early. I can be at either pond with my 2 person canoe with paddles or trolling motor in the back of my pick up or with my 12 foot jon boat and troller in my truck or on the trailer almost any morning except thursday. Anytime anyone has a key and would like to take me fishing. I WILL BRING YOU FREE COFFEE AND BREAKFAST SANDWICHS. During the week i need to be back in Nashua about 9. , sundays about 10:30 or if anyone has an extra seat they would like to share for a few hours in their fishing machine, i will be very quiet and try to be a good learner
  7. if none of that works bring beer , sandwichs and sun tan lotion.
  8. If you dont want to fish it i will !!! I would start with a quiet mouse or frog weedless if need be on the top with the longest casts possible trying to make sure i covered as much area as possible . and i would twitch it real slow. Then i would try in a different area to make a little noise with a popping frog or rebel popr again longest casts possible. hopefully youll find fish with both ways. i would then try dropping a rage tail weightless craw on the edge of the holes as quiet as possible. I would do my best to have the sun in front of me so you are not shadowing over the hole. Then i would try a rage tail keel weighted craw in the hole right in the middle and just twitch it around. That H2O express looks good too. Either way , i would fish it with out hesitation. hopefully you catch big fish !!!
  9. Gorham pond shouldnt be a problem to launch. I dont know about the resident only , i dont remember see a sign that said resident only. i have never been to long pond. Who can message me some directions. I tried to find long pond launch and could not. Is Long pond no gas motors? Is there a 3rd pond in that area?
  10. I had some good luck there last year with the brother in law, Straight out across the pond clear across the other side from the launch in the weeds on the right and just to the left of the launch in all the pads and weeds
  11. i retrieved several of my own and many others last winter at several ponds once they froze over. We have 3 local golf courses on rivers here. The kids now do what i and my buddy did and snorkle for the lost golf balls. to the tune of over 500$ for each of them last year. we sell them all. from perfect to near perfect to junky ones for practice.
  12. i assume it is covered with weeds and stuff , i havent been there since maybe march.
  13. http://www.hopkinton...ation/guide.pdf page 12 May i suggest coming down and fishing the salad bowl at Mill Pond in Nashua.. -- just kidding--- i have been back a couple times with my jon boat but still have not pulled out anything lmb bigger than 2 1/2 lbs, other than a few big 2 foot pickerel. I believe there are bigger ones but i have not found them. it is so convient for me being only 5 minutes away and 5 minutes from work. i can literally be in the water fishing in 15 minutes from work or home. same goes for the Nashua river where i have put a lot of time this year. both at the stellos ramp as well as millyard launch
  14. windham sticker , for the dump maybe is what he was talking about. but a resident sticker. or if you know a Windham resident, they can call the PD and tell them you are with them, and all they want is plate and model for your truck, then they let the patrols know not to ticket you. this works in hollis also at rocky pond , i got kicked out last year and a buddy told me to do this.
  15. i was there with a buddy that has a sticker . we parked at the ramp. it is shallow we put his heavy 19 foot fiberglass boat in with no problem a few weeks ago. He did mention that there was parking at the pump station for non residents He stated that many people would put the boat in then another person would drive the truck to park it and get picked up by the boat at the pumping station
  16. Hit the islands off the launch today at stellos. got there about 5:30 for about 2 1/2 hours, 8 fish nothing bigger than 2 1/2lbs , all on top water , in the weeds and pads , white mouse , gray mouse, black frog. the big question , where to go tomorrow morning with in 1/2 hour of Nashua. Kingston is gonna be too far as is Pawtuckaway. canobie? massabassic WHAT IS WEST ? INSTEAD OF EAST?
  17. Those beavers have scared the hell out of me a few times. My scariest time was in my waders at Stumpfield off the canoe launch area early last year. i was pretty far out and just happened to turn around and there was a bear walking around by my truck. In my mind i was trying to figure out if i could out swim a bear , and what the 2 guys fishing in the boat about 100 yards away were gonna do when i tried to climb in their boat with a bear behind me.
  18. Thanks for the info Mad Dog. None of those big boats bothered me, they all slowed down in good shape. I was just trying to find out how they did and if they did good, was it only down the Hollis end. It takes me 1/2ish hour to get there in my boat just trying to get info, I think i may try to go all the way to Hollis area on sunday and fish the weeds pretty heavy, Some day i will have a bigger faster boat to get htere quicker. But first the kids have to get thru high school and college, the savings accounts need to get a lot bigger. Also the wife says i can have any boat i want after we take a 3 week vacation to Italy and a 2 week vacation in Hawaii. Its gonna be a few more years x 10
  19. If it were me i would hit the Nashua river launching at Stellos launch. It takes me 1/2 hour in my little boat to get to the Hollis line so i have only been up there once or twice. Most people i talk to with bigger /faster boats head to Hollis and the golf course area. There is also a launch off of Broad street , It is off Tilton street which is left off of Broad street. Also an easy launch and easy parking.
  20. if you follow around behind the millyard there is a big parking lot and an excellent launch area. the sign posts that you need permission. there is a phone # to call. When i got permission a couple years ago i had to go inside during their normal working hours with an id and truck plate #. they gave me a paper with written permission to put on the dash board anytime i am there. it was free and easy to do. 5 minutes maybe 10 tops. we have put my buddies 18 foot fiberglass 115 hp motor with no probelms at all. we used the big motor to get us past the mall to start fishing and fished back to the launch from there
  21. The other place i have had some luck at catching smallies is the part of the Nashua river that leads to the bottom of the dam at Stellos. You can put your boat in behind the millyard ( you need permission but it is easy to get) from there you can go right and follow to the dam off of Main street in Nashua where it drops at Margaritas or go left from that launch and you can follow it as it twists and turns thru Nashua down Broad street behind the carwash , Under the bridge going under the highway at exit 6 , behind Home depot and you can follow it till it gets rocky. it is a good distance. make sure you spend time fishing the bridge area all smallmouth i have not caught a largemouth there yet. those river smallies put up a nice fight
  22. That would be Hollis line at the Runnels bridge. I believe it is as far as you can go with a boat. There is a lot of water to fish between Stellos launch and that bridge. alot of water , a lot of weeds , a lot of wood , a lot of everything.
  23. I put in behind Stellos all the time. guys fly around that place in huge boats. seems like they just stick to the middle. I have had good luck around the island just to the left as you come off the ramp. tons and tons of weeds. Ragetail craw weightless and weighted as well as a white weedless little mouse twitching on top. I posted a bunch of pics including a new personal best at 6-1 and also a 4-1 smallie. slow slow slow on top of the weeds.
  24. Post how you do. i havent been there yet
  25. Thanks for the info Chris. I was just curios how you guys did. I pulled a new personal best that morning at 6 lb 1 oz and also a 5 lb 4 oz as well as a huge 4 lb 1 oz smallie. all of them came in the heavy weeds. It literally was my best morning ever. I posted the pics in a different post. The fishing just died out after 7:30 or so for me but I stayed till about 9. Did you guys all head down to the Hollis end? I have been down there once and had real good luck but it takes me too long (30+ minutes ) to get there in my boat. Some day i will have a bigger faster boat as well as what i have now. Till then i am very happy fishing what i can when i can. You guys definatly have some nice boats and i am not afraid to admit i want one just like it . Keep fishing keep enjoying , i know i will. Thanks for the info.
