  1. Well all that took care of the line you're useing.. .As far as your question about spooling it correctly, you didn't say how you were doing it so just let me say that to spool a spinning reel, the line come off the filler spool from the bottom. For a casting reel the line comes off the top... Mike
  2. Hello and Welcome! Mike
  3. For the baitcaster I'd chose a mh/f rod spooled with16# Sniper flouro and use it for all bottom contact presentation's. The spinning outfit would be a m/f rod spooled with straight 20# braid for wacky rigs, shaky heads, skipping under trees and brush etc. I don't use leaders. Mike
  4. Great Job!! Mike
  5. I use that on my bottom contact plastics combo in scattered vegetation and really like it. Never thought about useing it for moving baits....I'm cheap Mike
  6. Happy Easter to you and your families, from me and mine. Mike
  7. Check out Slims Fish Camp on Torry Island at the SE corner of Lake Okeechobee. It's been there since the 30's Torry is the only inhabited island on the lake. Mike
  8. I switched my crank, spinnerbait/chatterbait combo's to 12# Yo Zuri and won't be changing any time soon. Mike
  9. I'm a bibs kinda guy. You can wear what you want underneath and always be dry, and have twice as many pockets. Mike
  10. T Bone...I say this with all due respect..You're over thinking it too much. I've been fishing tounament's (BFL, Bass Nations, TBF, clubs, charities) for years all as a co angler and honestly I prefer it that way. The only thing you can't control is where you fish and how long you're there. That's it! Have and show respect for your boaters space and equipment and just do your thing. As far as sticking a 5lb when he needs one that's just fishin Pal. You're both on the same water just 10ft apart. Most boaters will be happy for you, others not so much especially if there are no divisions and you're fishing heads up against each other. In the National circuit's there are separate divisions. Will you get back boated if you're on a bite and he's not...Sure, it's gonna happen. But just keep in mind you always have options..Sometimes not too many, but there are always options. If you have any specific questions just ask. Do a search here and be prepared to read. Good Luck to you Mike

First of all Thank You for your service. I wish you the best of luck. Stop by once in a while and let us know how, when and what you did where. You are a lucky man to have the chance and means to chase your dream. Mike
  12. Trust me... There is no damage to the line whatsoever. None Mike
  13. I always ask and always bring 6 which is never a problem. As a co angler versatility is key. Mike

  16. Always use my index finger under the line above the reel in the crease of the first nuckle. And thumb just behind the level wind. For me sensitivity is increased and it gives much more leverage palming that way. Mike
  17. Long distance bomb cast or underhanded flip cast's right handed. Flip and/or pitch either one. Mike
  18. 20# Sniper for all jigs in all conditions. If fishing in heavy cover I won't be throwing a jig anyway. Mime
  19. Check out the Flambeau AZ series of bags. I've gone through a few over the years and these have all the right compartments in all the right places. I use the AZ8 which is the largest of them all. It holds 8 3700 boxes and a little taller than wider or longer which As a co angler I like. It doesn't take up as much space as you would think. Mike
  20. Why do you think you need to change anything? What you have obviously worked. Try not to get caught up in the "I need a high IM rating rod to be a better fisherman" thing, because you don't. Mike
  21. Season's?? Oh Man we're talking years over here! Mike
