I unfortunately asked off from work 8/20 to 8/22 for this meet and greet and some other reasons, and my work was kind enough to schedule me from 4pm-9:30pm fri, 8am-9:30pm sat, 11am-7:30pm sun, and 9am-2pm mon. Screw retail. I want to find a real job. I just graduated in May with a Bachelors and its hard. Anyone ever fished in this office complex? Rode in there today to find a place I have an interview at tomorrow and drove down to the last pond closest to 76 and there was actually someone fishing it! The pond they were at is circled in red. I think i will try this place out tomorrow evening! It;s about 5 minutes from my house!

Im assuming this lake is in Virginia by your location... Would the VA Dept of Game and Inland Fisheries be someone to contact http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/fishing/stocking/warmwater.asp I found the above information...I dunno maybe someone else can chime in to the thread and provide more insight.

Went to Enclave tonight with my dad. I caught 2 bass and lost 2. One was REALLY nice and waited till I pulled the bait out the water to strike. > My dad had one on and was fighting with it until it snapped his line, it was a VERY nice one.

I have just recently started fishing with these baits. While they are excellent, and have increased the number of fish I catch, I find that they tear apart easily. I usually get to catch 2-3 fish before I have to rig up another one. I am texas rigging them with an 3.0 EWG BPS hook... Is there something I am doing wrong in fishing/rigging them, or is that just the way these baits are?

Might be going to Powhatan Lakes tomorrow if someone can confirm they are producing!!!

I only have success in the early morning hours or right before dark...

That Sunday the 22nd would be cool at Innsbrook.

Bank fishing produces for me there, so i know it would for an experienced fisher.

Which one of the 3 lakes at lake shawnee do you fish? the 1st one, middle, or third???

I voted for Innsbrook just because those have been on my to do list for a while and its shore fishing

I would like to shore fish, just for the simple fact that I have never fished from a boat (I am a newbie at fishing). I would automatically lose any kind of tournament :-?

Lake Shawnee is where I go. Its not exactly "public" but it has places at each of the 3 lakes to put in a jon boat. I fish it because my grandparents live on it.

Interested, but what about another location closer to Richmond?

Are there places to shore fish, as I am land bound. :

I never had any problems there, but that was years ago...

Fished Enclave tonight and caught my first fish on a plastic bait . It was a baby brush hog, watermelon color, texas rigged, weightless. Aint really worth puttin a picture up but I guess I will. 8-)

How do you all rig these baits? I just bought some, watermelon, and need some advice on how to rig them, which hooks to use, etc. Thanks!
