I Need Some Jerkbaits
My staples. Flashminnow Pointer/ Slender Pointer Staysee. (don't pay retail) I do have a couple slow-risers too, but nothing that's a super-floater like the rapala original (get one if you don't have one). Grass, little bass,... and mega bass? (I think I paid around $15 in trade value for it)

Please Give Feedback On My Rods And Set Ups. Bass Newb Learning.
Let's leave *swimbaits* aside. Unless you mean those teeny weeny hollowbellies. My 2 cents are here. Understanding location (by that I mean spot on spot), depth, and speed; will catch you fish. Think in the basic terms, and then match techniques to what you want to achieve (in terms of depth/ speed), and after that find baits for those techniques. Sure, a horizontal jig might catch more/ bigger fish than a T-rigged worm one day, and it may very well be the other way the next day or the next week. And let's not even get into size and colors. Your rods and reels are fine. Listen to what Tom (WRB) has to say. He has forgotten more than bass fishing than you and I (combined) have ever learnt about the sport.

Is This How You Break A Rod? Part 2
Missing an end cap. (He did put some clear tape on instead though. Why's there a hole?) Missing any protection whatsoever. (Must have been banged about an awful lot) Also missing (literally) 5 inches of the tip (Must have fallen out through the hole) And then he blames UPS. This is all I have to say.

First Post - How Patient Must I Be?
Depends on the spot actually. (how do define a spot? 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water- or something like that). If I'm out to have fun; I'll fish the same lure/ presentation in one spot for maybe 15 minutes (unless I'm catching). I don't like to leave fish to find fish. If I'm fishing for big fish, one retrieve can take 15 minutes. Do fish the top, middle and the bottom though, before moving.

Jigs, Will You Only Buy Hand Tied?
Wire-tie is better. If it comes with a rubber band, no big deal. I spend a few seconds to wire-tie it myself. I get the impression that 1. Some/ most of you fish straight silicone jigs. 2. You fish them straight out of package without any modifications whatsoever. Is that right?

Pretty sure that wasn't mine.- New Rod Or Custom!?
Who's this Dave guy? Cody, unless you have a regular job, I'd suggest getting an used off-the-shelf rod. You should be able to find a Helium 3 for well under $200 shipped, and it's a good blank that has held up to a fair amount of (unintentional) abuse.- Mend It Glue On Gary Yamamoto Plastics
Try applying the mend-it to the tear, and then holding it together for a while so that the glue has time to set.- Finesse Casting Rod

The first thing you need is a jeweler's scale. (either that, or a bucket of water and a lot of time). Light wire round bends for me.- G Loomis Jwr 3 Or 4 Power?????
3 power (JWR) is perfect for 1/4 and 3/8 oz + bait. 1/2 oz weight + plastic should be okay, not sure about a 1/2 oz jig. If in doubt, I'd probably go with the 873 CRR. - Chocolate
