    What a trip!
  2. Absolutely! Any VBS shimano is a *very* user-friendly reel. Shimanos lower than the Citica have graphite frames.
  3. My 3/8 oz project Z chatterbait itself weighs 15.5 g. I haven't played with it a lot, but I found it needed a fairly nice-sized trailer so that the trailer kicks. I guess the blade pushes water around the bait. I tried a small paddletail, and it was not kicking. With a 4 or 5 inch trailer, you're looking at well over three quarters of an ounce total. Plus it has a lot of drag coming through the water. Whatever skirt catches your fancy. When I'm not tying my own, I buy the cheap ones that still look good to me (usually strike kings). (use some mono or floral wire to tie over the rubber band). The weight depends on how deep and how fast you want to fish. I generally fish quarter oz texas and slip shot rigs but I also like to fish super slow. Most would probably use 3/8 or 1/2 oz. Maybe even 3/4 oz if fishing fast deeper than 20FOW. C-rigs are often used to cover water, although I don't usually fish them like that. I'm not particular about colors, anything natural works for me. Can't help you there. 6th sense and cobra bobber stoppers work good.
  4. Yep, the Shimano VBS is very user-friendly and almost backlash proof. Shimano starts at Citica though. Your best bet is probably an used Curado B or a PQ. I won't pay more than $60 for one, so shop around. Haven't fished a Lexa, so can't comment on that one. P.S. I bet you can find a Citica E for ~$60 too if you look hard enough.
  5. Top Brass Brass-N-Glass Bullet Weights. Bobber Stop. Hook. That's all. Not a true C-rig, but a slip-shot rig. It's better in more ways than one. P.S. You need skirts too I think for those jigheads. P.P.S. That 3/8 oz chatterbait with a trailer might be way too heavy for your spinning rigs to handle. I was fishing it on a flipping stick the other day.
  6. Braid: uni. Mono/ Fluoro/ Copoly: SD jam. No matter if it's a buzzbait or a texas rig.
  7. Nevermind. Figured out the position of the blank info and the logo from the tackletour reviews. The blue rods have all the specs plus the logo in front of the reel seat, like my post shows. The green rods have the specs behind the reel seat, but the logo in front, like Goose's post shows.
  8. Easy guys. It was a joke. Well, sort of. I'll revise my opinion if the current models are still being fished after a decade or two.
  9. While y'all were funning around, I got off the internet and caught some delicious bass to go with my carrots. Markings on my NRX are in front of the reel seat though. Wonder if it's a fake! First generation NRX as you can see from the single tone foregrip. Still no problems after hundreds of bass and some other species. Mr. Bass says: Use ShimLoomis And fear no fish!
  10. A wannabe vs the industry leader. At least all this competition is making Shimano and Daiwa work harder. Got no complaints there.
  11. Hey Hootie, did you know you and I share a very special bond? ShimLoomis made three good NRX's. You have one, I have the other two. And it doesn't end there. They also made like only half a dozen good Curado G's, right? You have a few I think? Guess what, I have (or had) the rest.
  12. I think you should get rid of that ugly maroon and make it orange and blue instead. I can promise your customer would LOVE it.
  13. I'm pretty sure 8# Berkley Trilene FC is a *thick* line (probably break above 8# on a straight pull). Might be worthwhile to check that first.
  14. Is that funny stuff you can smoke legal in Cali?
  15. 20% off at tackletrap.
  16. Tom, what do you think is the biggest NLMB ever caught? The MA state record? What sizes do they reach in SoCal? Thanks,
  17. No, just fantasy.
  18. The reel is not engaged when you're trying this, right?
  19. Well, if a (real) worm is all you ever intend on throwing, I think your ugly stick will be fine. And I don't think it's going to snap anytime in near future unless you run it over with a truck (literally) or something like that.
  20. I like Pepsi myself, but in a pinch coke or dr. pepper works all right too.
  21. d**n, you fishing for pet fish in that farm pond of yours again? Someone's on fire!
  22. Exactly! In that case, doesn't it make more sense to have a red (or pink or chartreuse or whatever) belly hook so that if the fish misses the belly hook, there's one more hook that might get him (or her)?
  23. Should have closed the "how to take a screenshot tab" before taking the screenshot.
  24. I have a question. These bass you catch; have you noted which of the two hooks is in their mouth?
