  1. Curado Haven't decided yet. Maybe an used GLX, or a custom. Might even get a new off-the-shelf in the $200 range.
  2. This might be of help: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewshimanociticag200.html I didn't go through all of it when it was published- because I don't have a Citica G- but I think they say something about the Citica G being closer to the Curado G, than the Citica E is to the Curado E.
  3. To get mounted on a jig rod that I haven't bought yet. This one cost me a little more; $115 shipped. Good deal? Bad deal? Okay deal? What does BR think?
  4. Thanks guys! Does anyone have a 7'2" MH or the 7'8" MH? On the Phenix website (but not on TW), the lure ratings on both seem to be 1/2 to 3/4 ozs, which is a pretty small range if you ask me. I don't pay a lot of attention to the ratings, but if I'm buying a rod, I do want to know what it's designed for.. Thanks once again,
  5. Looking for inputs from folks who have fished a *casting* M1 for some length of time. What do you think of the actual taper vs the rated taper; i.e is a rated extra-fast rod actually extra-fast, or more of a fast? What about a fast-rated rod if you have one? Also interested in the sweet spot for a given rod. For example, let's say you have the 7'2" MH rated for 1/4 to 3/4 oz baits. What's the lure weight that best loads up the rod without feeling like it's getting overloaded. (I understand it's probably a personal preference). Please understand I'm not trying to know what's the min and max weights I can throw/ fish with one (subtle difference). How does the sensitivity of the lineup compare to one or more of these: Powell Max/ Endurance, St Croix Avid, Shimano Crucial/ Cumaras (the older ones), Dobyns Champion (not the Extreme). Thanks,
  6. Spend as much or as little as you want to; but if $100 is what you want to spend, aren't there already a lot of rods in the market? What I don't like is that most manufacturers don't make rods in the length, power, and actions I want/ prefer. In fact, Powell is the only brand that actually does.
  7. Since there's no mention of the "smooth, strong, silent and reliant" (is that the correct order?), I'll take the PQ. Bearing count means little, as has already been mentioned. A lighter reel also has little importance to me, personally. I fish economy grade rods, and I feel those balance better with a heavier reel anyway. I love a Citica 201D I have had for over a year. That thing probably weighs almost 10 ozs but the balance with that reel on my Powell Max 753 is unreal. Good luck!
  8. Copy-pasted it, and put it in quotation marks (because the text is not mine) P.S. Originally saw it on another forum.
  9. I really tried to like this line; too bad I couldn't.. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/110415-kanzen-braid-20-review/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/90694-seaguar-kanzen-braid/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/93747-anyone-using-seaguar-kanzen-braid/

That's like saying all Strike Kings cost $15 just because the 10XDs cost that much. Roman-made is the name of a brand/ company, not a particular bait. The $400 bait is a 12" glide bait, called "Mother" IIRC. Most other Roman-made baits- the ones I can see on TW anyway- are less than $100, and believe it or not, that is a very usual price for hand-made big baits. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed the video.
  11. Run them over one of your fingernails.
  12. I like 30# test (Samurai- 6 lb mono diameter) on 2500 size (Shimano 2500 size) reels. Any smaller, and I end up with occasional wind knots. In any case, lower pound test Samurai costs even more, and I'm happy with the performance of 30#. I do use a leader, so that helps breaking off easy, if and when needed.
  13. "" The Bagley Bang-O-B fishing lures are available in the following colors from ****** Baits. The DBO6 and DBO8 type bait colors are: Little Musky on Yellow (LMY), Little Musky on Orange (LMO), Hot Tiger (HT), Tennessee Shad - Orange Belly (TSO), Parrot (PRT), Chartreuse Shad - Black Back (CSD), Black Back - Silver Foil (BS), Baby Bass on Chartreuse (BB), and Sexy Shad (SS). The DBO6 Bang-O-B baits are approximately 5.25 inches long and weigh about one and one half ounces (~43 grams). At a typical reel crank-speed the DBO6 lures can dive to approximately 20 feet. The DBO8 Bang-O-B baits are approximately 8 inches long and weigh about two and one fourth ounces (~64 grams). At a typical reel crank-speed the DBO8 lures can dive to approximately 30 feet. ""
  14. Yeah, swimbaiting is kinda expensive...
  15. Mattlures Deadtwitch!
  16. Neither. Baits. I'm doing fine chucking a $100 bait on a $100 reel clamped on a $100 rod...
  17. It's a fine reel. I have had one for close to 3 years; still going strong. P.S. Got it serviced last summer by DVT, and that's the only maintenance ever performed to it.
  18. Reel: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/111960-how-to-pick-a-baitcaster-101/
  19. OP, are you limited to buying from BPS only?
  20. I fish and recommend (lol) 30# Daiwa Samurai for this purpose.
