  1. Summer fish sometimes want a faster moving bait to trigger a reaction strike. I've seen times when just changing to a heavier weight on a texas rig to get a faster fall would double the bites in the summer time even. Not to say that finesse and slow can't be on as well.
  2. love the short squatty squarebills man, very nice (so are the others of course)
  3. and "Chupa Shad 3.0" on a lil john DD as well
  4. A couple of new patterns "Living Texas Shad" painted on a Lil John DD

  6. excellent bait, not super popular, but it should be. Its one of the deepest running "small" baits out there and catches a lot of fish if you put it in the right places.
  7. 1. Reaction Innovations Smallie beaver Magic craw swirl color 2. Reaction Innovations Double wide beaver Magic craw swirl color 3. Strike king 4" flipping tube black neon color 4. Gary Yamamoto senko in watermelon red 5. Zoom trick worm in green pumpkin
  8. i have now seen the insides of these baits, they are simple on the outside but the inside is complex with precise chambers and channels for the weights, even more impressive internally
  9. BD7 size (like the white one) is a very popular deep diver, probably the only one thats more popular is the DD22 which is almost exactly that size. Takes a pretty big bait to get the long casts necessary to get to maximum depth and thats part of why they are big baits. The smaller baits you have there will not go nearly as deep as the white one does. Different tools for different applications, its a great bait though get that sucker wet!
  10. Bass don't have hands, i agree the first feeling is them inhaling the bait so set the hook. If you are getting a lot of misses its usually sunfish or bass that are too small to inhale the bait anyway.

Thanks, its harder to get good pictures that get even close to how the baits actually look in person and its taken more energy than the painting does to get them right haha

  15. sounds like an allergy maybe, acrylic paint is water based too. I shoot urethanes and lacquers with a respirator but never any eye protection and don't even get problems, which is why this sounds like an allergy thing to me. Exactly what paints are you shooting?

Some of my painting (I did not make the lures themselves)...
  20. very nice, it has a longer bill than similar hand made baits what depth does it run?
  21. I think it just means your planning and lure selection were dead on, use it as momentum and confidence to build on
  22. I like to use a 1/4 oz buzzbait when they are missing a larger one. Another thing is that there is not a lot of bait for the bass to "suck" in so adding a plastic trailer like a grub (even if you break off the tail) can give them something more substantial to pull into their mouths on the strike.
