  1. Hey guys! I just started fishing this July and have become addicted to it. I mainly fish a local pond that has somewhat stained water, a few places of underwater timber, has a weedy bottom, and averages about 6-8' in depth, with the deepest area being around 12'. Here is the tackle that I have acquired this year, and was needing your help on what items to look at getting next? Soft Plastics: Zoom Finesse Worms - Black, Green Pumpkin, Green Pumpkin with Chartreuse tails Zoom Trick Worms - Pumpkin Zoom Super Flukes - Albino Yum Dinger - Watermelon/Red Rebel Pop-R Rapala SR-5 Strike King Bitsy Flip 3/8 oz Black/Blue Strike King 7/16 oz Black/Blue Spinnerbait with Colorado blade Super Spook Jr. Any suggestions?
  2. I have that same reel - bought it at Dick's this year as a combo paired with a Berkley Cherrywood rod for around $40. I don't have any experience with more expensive models or brands, but I really like this setup.
  3. Funny you should say that! I was looking over the other thread about cheap reels and found out about the procaster, and then found the Fish Eagle II rod on sale at Cabela's. Unless anyone changes my mind in the next day or so, that's what I'll probably be getting.
  4. Hey guys! I'm looking at getting a baitcasting rod/reel combo. My budget is about $70. I've found these set-ups and was wondering what your opinion would be, or if you've used either. I mainly fish ponds with very occasional trips to the lake. I'm looking at this baitcaster to be a general all-purpose rod to go with my spinning outfit. I don't have enough posts to add the links, but here are the choices... 5. Hi Everyone! I just started bass fishin' this July and am now addicted! My previous fishing experience was only throwing nightcrawlers and catching whatever would bite. I'm 22 years old, and married to a wonderful wife who lets me go fishing just about when I want to! I'm in the process of trying to get her to come along with us. I typically fish with one of my buddies from church in a decent size pond from a 12' Jon boat, with very occasional trips to Lake Hickory. I look forward to getting to know everyone, and learning as much as I can from them.
