Im using Gamakatsu EWG Worm Hook and 20# braid with 12 # flouro leader.

Well I don't mind using Samurai. Thanks for anwsering my question, I alreasy have 12 # flouro so I will stick with that and just replace my braid.

I went out today with my new setup, Crucial MH/XF and my Curado, and I loved how it fished. But I had a problem, every time I would get a fish I would either set the hook and get nothing or set the hook and have it come off during the fight. My guess is that I am setting the hook too early and not letting them take it because im not used to feeling them initially take it (I used to fish with an ugly stik ) and I get to jumpy. Any thoughts? And I did end up getting one out of the water but to bad I forgot my camera >

^^^ Lol I had my alarm setand it went off even. But I guess that is what happens when I go to bed at 2 am that morning But I will be ordering line soon because stupid academy did not have anything and I don't want to drive and hour to cabela's. I will be getting firline in 40 # to 65# and with the fluoro do I just want it to match the diameter of the braid?

Alright thanks guysfor your suggestions. Unfortunately I already spooled my line with what I had because I was desperate to go fishing this morning but then didn't even wake up :'( But I will see if this set up works out tomorrow if not o well, but I think I will be fine.

Well I went to my local academy to pick up the line that was suggested and there were alll sold out, figures. So since im fishing tomorrow and don't have any line i decided to pick up just some stuff up. I got SpiderWire UltraCast Ultimate Braid 20# and Berkley® Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon 12#. I was just wondering if that would work.

Not trying to sound clueless, but I have never fished with a leader so if someone could direct me to an article on how to set a leader up properly that would be great. Or someone just explaning it would also work.

I'm just looking for the line that will give me the most sensitivty.

I just got my new Crucial MH/XF rod with my curado reel. I was wondering what would be the best line if I would be using texas rigged soft plastics most of the time with some jigs here and there. Thanks.

Not to thread jack, but how often are you supposed to lube your reel. I just got my Curado and was wondering if i should lube it straight out of the box.

Well I guess it was funny to me because when I was reeling it in it seemed like I didn't have a fish. And my friend who has never been fishing was laughing at me cause it looked like I just caught alge. I guess its one of those you had to be there moment. O well.

I am looking to get a new setup and have been doing some research on the Curado. During that research a lot of people say the Citica is basically the same as the Curado but cheaper. My question is what really is the difference and is it worth spending more for the Curado. Thanks.

Ok well since the Veritas would not be the ideal rod I have had another in the back of my mind just a little more pricey. It is the Shimano Crucial. My only questions with this rod is what length, action, and power should I get considering what I fish with. Also to note is that 99% of the time I am Texas rigging my soft baits. As for the reel I was also looking at the Curado 200E7 compared to the Carbonlite. Which one would be the preferred reel.

Here in the next few days I am going to pick up a new rod and reel. I am going to get a baitcasting setup, and this will be my first as I only use spinniners. My question is is what I have listed going to be a good begginer and down the road baitcast set up. Keep in my that I mostly throw soft plastics and a few jigs. * Abu Garcia Veritas 7' MH/F (Yes I do know the rod came out today) * BPS CarbonLite Baitcast Reel Also what line should I use for this setup?

What do you guys think about this rod from the readings that have been published. I was just wondering because I think I am going to get one as my first baitcasting rod.

Like I said I am new to jigs, so what I really want to konw is what are the diferrences between a Casting jig, Flipping jig, Football jig, etc.

I am looking to start throwing jigs more often but don't know too much about them. I just have a couple of questions for you guys: 1) What are the purposes between the different types of jigs. 2) Are Black Angel Jigs a good brand to use? And any tips for a new jig thrower would be great, Thanks.
