Tips for Fountainhead
Bigbarge50- The 570PT is portable. They make a 570 but the 570PT has a weatherproof case with a 12v gel-cell battery at 640x320 resolution. Shoot me a PM and I can bring it out if you want to meet up sometime. The transducer mouting is by suction cup and has a quick disconnet on the mouting plate. The battery will run for up to 24hrs. Pikes, it was very hot yesterday and water temps were very warm. I saw a lot of suspended fish and most were caught deep on points and trees pointing out of the water.

Tips for Fountainhead
I ended up skipping the AM run out...my bed kept me in ;D But I ended up going later at around 2:30 with my buddy which I had to teach out to fish for bass. Covered points and wood structure on the left from the ramp and nothing. Then headed toward the grass straight ahead of the marina and caught a few dinks off jigs and plastics. They were caught in about 6ft deep all off the bottem. We then made a run to the old dam and caught some more but no pigs. There were two other boats catching them deep by the dam. It was hot as hell out there but a good day. The 570PT is a great tool, now I know what spots will hold fish:)

The Pond Monster?
If it ran out to the center of the pond my guess is a catfish.

ah, missed the part when you said "old dam". I can try heading toward Bull Run again but I got skunked last time I ran towards Bull Run..but now that I have the depth finder it may pay off. Theres this point straight ahead of the marina that I caught a pig but somehow managed to lose my jig and fish It's always the big ones that get away but at least I know they are out there. Man, you be forever staying on the forums..lol

I haven't gone all the way to the dam yet. I'm affraid that my battery on my trolling motor will die by the time I get there....or do you think i'm just a wuss? lol Maybe I can drift half way there covering areas and then make a run to the dam.?

Checking in from Centreville, VA
Hello fellow members. Been lurking here for a week and finally joined. Hope to learn some things on here. Been bass fishing almost all of my life. Fished for Bass the first time when I was 8 in upstate NY at a Resivour. Been pond hopping the last few years around the area and sometimes go out to the lakes and rez around the area.

Tips for Fountainhead
Will pick up a map when I get there tomorrow. Been off this whole week and been fishing just about everyday. I went out to fountainhead monday with my dad and sister and only managed to catch two on point. Was covering the whole rightside by the old dam and caught nothing. It was great going out fishing with my dad as we have not gone together in a while. I'll see what I can manage tomorrow now that I have the depth finder. I would like to go with someone that has more experiance on the rez though. I don't bite

Tips for Fountainhead
Been lurking on the fourms for a week and placed my first order with Northstar! What what i've read on here they are quality jigs. I've used other jigs and the skirt part always falls apart over time so hopefully these will last me some time. I've been bass fishing since I was 8 and love it I plan on going out to fountainhead in the morning and need some pointers. I just bought my first Sonar (humminbird 570 portable) and will be testing it out tomorrow . Any pointers on where to go? Towards the dam or upstream? Should I just fish points and drop offs? Any tips would be great! Thanks, Eddie
