To me its a spinnerbait with no blades. You can try different retreieves, you could swim it, which could be a good searchbait for this time of year, or you could fish it like a craw. You should try some different retrieves and see whats comfortable for you.

Hi, I have a big tournament this summer, that too me could jump start my fishing career. Can an expierenced tournamnet angler give me a few tips on pre-fishing? I do alot of research before hand and have spots to try before I'm out on the water. But sometimes I don't catch fish on the spots where I think they should be. Thanks!

Hello, I'm a 15 year old angler. I turn 16 next year and unfortunatly the boat that my family currently owns would be able to take on the rough waters of big waters. We have a Rick Clunn 1993 nitro. Well anyway, I want a boat about 19 ft and up. For all the people who own GOOD bass boats, how should some one like me, thinking about getting a bass boat for myself, go about saving money, and knowing a good deal when I see one. Thanks!

On a day where its foggy in the morning would be a good time to throw topwater. Also when it hits a full moon about this time of year those fish move up on there spawning flats, and they are all active pre-spawn fish. After the spawn the topwater bite in michigan isn't so hot. In early August on St. Clair, there is a HUGE Weedline behing harley ensign, the boat launch, and the frog bite can be killer there!

I would pick up a 6:4:1. If you want to burn a spinnerbait or a crankbait you could just reel faster, if you wanted to throw a medium diving crankbait you could reel at a good pace and if you want to slow roll and spinnerbait or throw a deep diver you could just slow down your retrieve.

Finesse fishing in heavy cover is perfect for braid on spinning rods. Personally I've never tried it but I've been on boats and watch guys pulled 3lbers outta of the think stuff with braid on spinning reels.

It might not be the tube really. But I use venom tubes, I swear by them. Try this, get a led head, something that isn't attached to the hook. Most of the time smallies are looking for crayfish that have molted there shells. If its hard they drop it, have you ever noticed that you get picked up alot? Thats why they pick it up and spit it out. The weight within the tube makes it feel like a crayfish that hasn't molted its shell yet. So I switched over with a led head on the line not on the hook so its soft and I have found that I get alot more fish in the boat using that technique. Texas rigging a tube is also a good choice but I haven't done well doing that.

Well think about it. Those 6 or 7 pounders were once those little 12 inchers. Your not wasting your time. I'm right there with you.

I don't think he has a main "strength" every aspect of his game is better then the rest of the fields. He can convert to any type of fishing when he needs too. Thats why they call him the best in the sport.

I would punch it with heavy jigs or weights, throw a frog, like a spro, or throw a wacky rig.

I would say keep some slack in the line, and twitch as if you were twitching a worm, its always worked for me, or keep your rod tip down.
