  1. Heading down Orlando with the family in late March and was looking to do a guided trip here. I am an experienced angler but with the family we will opt for shiners. Seeing any recommendations of guide services and one thing that will narrow it down and might even be a negative is, they would need to be able to accommodate 4 people. thanks
  2. Just seeing if anyone knows of or can recommend a community to rent a property for vacation that offers or has bass fishing on-site and it has no restrictions.
  3. At a local dicks sporting goods I was looking at a Stradic fl 2500, when I looked inside the reel I noticed felt/fuzz(assume felt was drag washer) on the reels shaft. Also some fuzz on top if ur looking down into the top(if the top is removed) is this bad or a quick fix as I’m able to get a pretty decent discount off it.
  4. Taking the family to Disney in mid-May and was wondering guides and best route to go. looking for a 4-5 hr trip and was tossing back and forth between bass fishing or a saltwater trip. my boys are 10 and 12 and we fish regularly off our boat for bass, but they are obviously still beginners and learning. any recommendations for a type of trip that will give them a great memory. we are staying in the Disney area but have transportation and will be willing to travel Thanks
  5. Have 2 Denali rosewood shakyhead rods, 1 Abu Garcia fantasista regista 7ft med fast, and will be getting a zodias or Denali lithium dropshot rod
  6. So I handled all and honestly thought the ballistic lt felt best, Stradic fl was smooth and surprisingly the lew custom pro speed spin felt good. It was heaviest but smooth and felt very tough. My buddy who fished numerous trails as a co angler and fishes a ton all up the east coast has 3 years with the lews and says no issues smooth drag and impressed for $130. So I seem to between those 3 all pretty different lol
  7. So after some handling I really liked the vanford, ballistic lt, stradic fl and a sleeper is the lews custom pro speed spool
  8. Just sold my older ci4’s that had some years on them and only negative was the shallow spool. Gonna use for bass fishing 1/8-1/2oz weight and price range $150-$300 what should I be looking at. So far I have handled the revo s, Daiwa tatula, shimano vanford. Tatula felt cheap and hand decent wobble, revo x felt solid and vanford felt the best. I still need to locate and handle Daiwa ballistic, lews custom speed spool spin, Daiwa fuego(a lot of good reviews) and Stradic do. I am looking for 3 reels to use for shaky heads, drop shots, wacky rig, Ned rigs. Any opinions or recommendations to try
  9. Taking a long shot to see if anyone has any experiences or opinions regarding the Douglas xmatrix 6103xf or the LRS 6103xf verse the daisy tatula elite ags Brent ehrler spinning rod
  10. Yea I seen that a lot of there staff is up north. The rod itself felt nice the xmatrix definitely felt better then the ldr not sure if performance is $100 more. Looking for a dropshot rod and others I’m considering is Sierra or champion 702s or the tatula elite ehrler edition
  11. Funny I’m researching the same, was at a local shop and was handling there models. They felt nice not sure how they compare verse rods in there pricevranges
  12. excellent. glad to hear i have the right action for those techniques. Thank you guys for replying
  13. Just purchased the Avid 7'MH/F which will be used for Pitching soft plastics and jigs and some football jig use. weights from 1/4oz-3/4oz. my question is should i have gotten the 7'MH/xf for those baits
  14. Wondering everyones opinions on these reels. Are they pretty much all comparable or does one stand out in performace. They are all within $20 bucks of each other currently.
  15. These are the two set-ups i am currently looking at; 1. Dobyn Savvy 702 ml with a Soron Stx20 2. Crucial 7'2 ml with a Stradic fi2500 Does anyone have any first hand experience with these items. They will be mainly used for shaky heads and drop-shotting
  16. hey guys thanks for all the advice. i will be shortly purchasing a few savvy rods and just had one other question.what is the difference between the 733/734 to the 703/704. is it just the 3inch differemce in length????
  17. Hey guys im tossed between shaky head and drop-shot rods and was just wondering the opinions of people who have used some of the ones i have listed. Heres what is on my list. St.Croix Avid 6'9ml/xf Dobyn SS702fs Shimano Crucial 7ft ml/xf
  18. for the soron stx, which models will work best for drop-shots/shaky heads. Also will need one for finesse plastics like a weightless dinger or senko. Dont know which one to choose the 20 or 40??
  19. Looking in purchasing two new spinning reels. one to be used for drop-shotting/shakeyheads and the other for light jerkbaits/stick baits. I have more knowledge towards baitcasters and when it came to spinning reels i always went towards the lower price reels and would just replace them more. Looking for a quality reel and these are the ones i have been looking at. Abu Garcia Soron STX, Soron SX, Shimano Saros F, Daiwa Exceler TSH High speed. My price range is $70-$130. Just wondering if anyone has any experience (good or bad) with these reels. Thank you
  20. I noticed alot of people had purchased these rods (Duckett Micro magic rods) and wondering what everyone's opinion is on them. and how do they compare to rods in there same price range like the savvy, kistler micro, powell, etc...
  21. Hey Craiger i really appreciate the time you took our of your day to help me out. This was an excellent post which has definitely provided me with great info. Thank you again so much and i will keep you posted on my purchases. to answer some of the questions i usually only fish braid when throwing the frogs over mats or a lipless crank around grass. I usually use the fluro for my finesse fishing, C-rigs, flipping/pitching, jigs, DD cranking or keeping a spinnerbait down, mainly baits to keep near the bottom. Mono ill throw with my other topwaters, jerkbaits, and shallow cranking/spinnerbaiting. Im just trying to get prepared for next seasons Bass Weekender Series and some club tourney's. i have only really fished tourney's for about a year but been biten by the bug and just love the competition and challenge. Thank you again and have a good weekend.
  22. Thank you Craiger, i cant wait to read your response. Thanks again!
  23. First question is if the Savvy Series is worth the extra money and that much better then the Shimano Compre. I unfortunately leave in an area that does not have a Dobyn dealer yet and am unable to hold or feel there rods. My second question is which rods in the Savvy series will fit my style of fishing. My normal fishing conditions are usually throwing a frog/toad over grass mats, flippin/pitchin in rocks, wood or grass, jig fishing on offshore structure, cranking, weightless plastic like yum dinger or senko, spinnerbait/ buzzbait, carolina rig, and a shakey head/dropshot usually on a spinning outfit. Now i dont know if im being realistic or not but my goal or thought is to have atleast 4 to 5 baitcasting rods and 2 spinning outfits to basically cover this. Which models do you think will be best???
