I don't hesitate to throw my topwater. For me, the sun getting up affects my luck in a negative way. Many mornings in the cold, I have had some great topwater action on wakebaits and spooks.

I have the Cabelas Guide Wear that works great, but I have to treat the suit at least once a year with a special wash and waterproofer that Cabelas sells and that keeps me dry.

Fluke on a weighted hook.

I like topwaters and cranks.

I go to the other parts of the lake.

I have my best luck starting half way back on secondary pts in creeks and continue to work my way to the back with crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and rattlebaits until I find them and then I might slow down and try some other tactics such as a jig or shakeyhead.

Rod action and lure color change may help.

Sounds like you might should check the jerkbait bite with these conditions. A lot of fish in TN suspend in these conditions.
