Brandon Palaniuk / Gerald Swindle / Aaron Martens
These guys (among many others) are true class acts. I loved how they were able to show how much they truly LOVED this sport. They are all great fisherman but also great people. I know that over 90% of them guys fishing this past weekend are also great people and have great sportsmanship but standing up there and saying the things they said, and do the things they do was (as Brandon would put it "UNBELIEVEABLE") Martens had some good things to say, that I'm sure just about anyone would say about KVD. But, being able to actually say them things in his position shows a true class act. If that guy beat me that many times and put me in that position, it'd be hard to swallow it when it means that much.

BOMBER 9A ANYBODY USED THIS
I don't know if this Bomber 9A is new or not, but I have never seen it or used it. This crankbait is suppossed to get to 18ft. If anyone has any feedback, I'd love to hear about it. Maybe you could answer a few questions of mine. Does it kick out bad on the bottom? (the lip looks like it would) Does it actually dive to 18ft on a normal long cast? lol (not a KVD 70 yarder!) And, one thing I would love to find in another crankbait, does it back up when paused? I guess the Norman DD22 does it the best, get snagged or hit a rock and pause it and it will back itself up 3-5 inches. This is one of the main reasons I love the DD22. Other crankbaits do it to an extent I imagine, but not like the Norman IMO.

Can't get the sideplates off two reels...
Agreed. Both of these reels allow for the side plates to come off. And this is what is needed to get them off. 2-3 screws on the outside of the reel and one on the inside.

What to do with old reels?
Upgrade these reels. Pfluegar makes some pretty decent stuff. About 30 dollars a reel and some do it yourself work and these reels will perform with the + $100 reels.

Duckett Rods
I have two of the white Duckett rods. I've used them since last August and really like the feel and sensitivity of them. The micro guide technology is a pretty neat concept. They claim you can feel better, and cast longer. I know you can feel really great with this rod. As far as casting, I can already cast a lil farther than I could probably set the hook lol But, it does reduce line slap, so the concept makes sense. I never used the E21 Duckett version, but from my understanding, Boyd wanted to build a better rod than them. So, I think he did a pretty good job. The price is somewhere around 149-169 usually. I think its a very decent rod to be mass produced. And, they have a good warranty on them. http://duckettfishing.com/home.php

THEFT at b.a.s.s southern open/toho
I dont know if bass really like big mounds of trash so much... lol I agree though, it doesn't seem right. They probably ruined several guys trips that they spents A LOT of time and effort on. All in all, a smack on the wrist with a few nights away from home with bed and board which, they didn't pay for either. How ironic.

THEFT at b.a.s.s southern open/toho
If 20 guys are all staying at the same hotel, and all twenty are trying to be one hour early for the tourn, have you ever seen how big of a mess that causes? A fisherman friendly hotel pretty much means they have hook ups outside. Thats about it, parking, no. When fishing the College Bass tournaments it took at least an hour to just get out of the parking lot because its so hard to managed to keep your boat hooked up at night, and leave in a timely manner. Everyone else wants to do the same thing. As far as taking a spare trolling motor, gps/fishfinder unites, and 20 + combos, and all the clothes, you would usually have to account for two guys, as many of these guys share a room. That ends up being a lot bigger mess and hassle. Plus, on top of having to do that, these guys spend ALL day on the water, the last thing they want to do is spend another hour getting stuff in and out at the end of a long day.

Just bought a E21 carrot stix. Should I like it?
I bought a 6'9 a few years ago and used it very hard! It finally broke on me. With all the comments and stories I've heard I was expecting it to happen sometime. I really like the sensitivity and weight of the rod. Thing is, its hard to find a rod with that price with the sensitivity of 150 dollar rod. I kept the mind set that, if it breaks, its under warranty. The guy I buy from alot will let me go in a trade it for a new one the same day (but he's done this with any product I've ever had a problem with) So, its not much of an issue with me. I've bought 3 more and recommend them all the time.

laser boats are they good.. have pics
If the motor runs, and you don't fall through it while fishing, then it does what you need it to do. Whats more important? Going 70mph for 5 mins to get to your spot, or being able to stand up and fish out of the boat for 5 hours while its going > 2mph? If I was buying it, i would make sure there are no cracks on the transom. I'd make sure the engine, started and ran, and i'd get the books and make sure what it should have weighed. Looks like its been sitting outside, possible with no cover? You can take it somewhere and get the weight of boat, motor, and trailer. That boat could have soaked up hundreds of pounds of water (especially if its made of wood?) Just something to be weary of and think about.

BLANKS FOR PAINTING
Does anyone have any deep diving blanks for painting? DD22, 6XD, DT20's. Are there any replicas of these, or does anyone sell these? I'm trying to get into it a little more, but would also just like to experiment with colors, weights, and actions.

Is Braid a must?????
what does it flat out suck for? No doubt I would use fluoro over braid in certain situations, but I have yet to find a set up that braid "sucks" at. WINTER FISHING below 32 degrees! You'll know the meaning of suck if fishing braid in them conditions

Action of a weightless slug-go
I still use slugos from time to time. It has a similar action to a fluke with a smaller slimer profile. These are great baits that can be skipped under dock and overhands. They do a good job when fished on a carolina rig and popped over structure. They even work good on a shaky head (but think winter time) They are stiffer than a typical shaky head finesse worm so they do not have as much erratic tail and body movement. They work really good with a quick action and with a slower dead sticked retrieve. When the fish stop hitting the fluke as aggressive as they usually do, try a slugo before switching to a slower bait. The slimmer silohette may be the ticket!

Now that's standing behind your product.
Looks like to me, no matter if it was Shimano, Abu, Nike, or Reebok. That is great customer service. Admitting there is a fault and trying to fix it, or fixing it because they appreciate your business is a sure sign of a great product, no matter what name is on the product.

KVD's sponsors products?
KVD, and many of the other guys have it made with most of their sponsors. Why do you think Strike King has so much success with their lures, because they listen. Its a relationship between the pros and the company. Their red eye shad would not be as good if it was not tweaked, designed, and tested by these guys. But, these guys ask for something to be made and the company comes through with it. Same with quantum.... or any other high end self promoting (and big sponsor promoting) product. The best quality products are asked for. So they will taylor to the pro's specifications...and if it works good for the pros, it's going to work good for the common man.

I have an idea, now tell me why it won't work.
The weakest link between you and your lure is your line. If your line is in perfect condition, then the weakest link would have to be the knot that is being tied. The more knots, the more links. Also, when tying to the loop, it allows a point that can cut into your line. The cutting is what makes most knots fail in the first place. If you use a microscope look at a knot being tied you will notice that your best knots wrap onto the lure tie, then squeeze onto the tie & the line itself. This causes enough friction points so that one particular point is not taking the entire load. If you were to use your idea, one certain place in the loop will take the entire load, which is why it will fail. This idea may work with braided line as the main, and tied onto with another braid or mono leader??? But, its still going to give another weak link in your reel-to-lure

Save those skirts
Does anyone make a small zip tie than the 4inch?

Are Flukes the best??
I've never tried the Banjo minnow. I'm sure they work. But, really, what won't work if it imitates a dying shad when fish want something that looks like a dying shad??

Laser Lure
So, what would happen if a partner took a laser and shined on the popper while the angler was fishing it? Is it going to work as good?

Topwater Reccomendations?
If visibility to the bass was really the problem.... Hold 65lb test and 50lb test braid up above you on a sunny day. Which casts the boldest shadow???

rain suit
I've got the 100mph suit. The sizes were different. But, the suit is amazing.

Which plastics do you burn through the most?
I can burn through some chigger craws myself. And paca chunks. In the spring and early summer though, 10 or more packs of flukes go through the boat quickly.

KVD strike king silent stalker cranks
I use the silent baits much like KVD does. When the bite turns off after catching them good they are a good back up bait. Also when alot of pressure has been put on the lake, its a good starting bait.
