  1. RW you should write a book. I always like to see your posts they come in handy for the "just starting to take bass fishing seriously" kind of guy.... like me. Thanks.
  2. Great boat! What kind of paint did you use? Spray gun or can? It looks really good.
  3. Well i didnt do as well as i had hoped. It has been raining alot the past few days, I think that may have played a part I only caught three in two days. One about one pound the other two were in the 2-3 pound range i got the smaller one on a shad pattern countdown. It hit that thing like a train it was great. The other two i caught on a chartruse (sp) spinner in the morning. I guess the good thing was i got my limit of trout both days on the rapala. But im NOT giving up cause i know they are thair so i guess ill just have to try harder next time i go in a few weeks.
  4. I picked up a couple of rainbow swim baits and think I will do well thanks for all the help guys.
  5. Nope not here. Thair is a warning on the package thats about it.
  6. I am heading upto the mountins this weekend to go camping. I am going to a lake that is known strictly as a big rainbow lake. But i have seen some huge bass in it before and I want to go after em. do you guys got any cold water tactics or tricks that work well. Last time I checked the water temp was about 60 degrees. And im almost sure they are still prespawn up thair.
  7. Southern Califorina. We have allot of old man made resivoirs with about six good sized bass lakes within an hour. I guess im just lucky.
  8. Thanks for all your help. I gave it back to him and told him he should list it on e-bay. can you guys recomend a decent one for a hundred to a hundred and fifty bucks. I have been looking for one for a while now and this is the first one I have ever baught so I dont really know whats good and whats not. And its hard to take the manufacturers word cause they are all the best according to them.
  9. Not much on features. Just your basic depth and temp. The screen on it is pretty big and clear though I put it in my pool and it seems to work ok. It picked up a crank bait I ran past it a couple of times. But you are right I could get a decent new one for a hundred bucks so maybe ill just let him keep it. Thanks
  10. I would just like to say hello to everybody and I think this forum is by far the most informative one I have read so far. So thanks for the info. I have a small question about a fish finder my friends dad is trying to get rid of. It is a Humminbird LCR8000, it is in exelent condition, has all the parts still in the package, and he said he baught it in 1985 when they first came on the market for about $450.00. He said he only used it once. So i was wondering if you guys could think of a fair price for it. Thanks so much.
  11. There is just 1 flaw with my bass fishing ability. 1 MAJOR Flaw that is. Maybe someone can help me. When your bass fishing, say for the first time in 2 weeks. You go down to the lake, and you start out with one lure. You have no success. You change your pattern, again no success. How long to you stick with a certian thing before you give up on it? And when you give up on it, do you try it randomly throughout the day, or just leave it be. EX. I am fishing a spinner bait in the mid morning. Fast and slow, stop and go, retrieves. No success. Do I continue to use the same retrieves and look for just totally different types of cover and areas, or do you try the same area with a new lure, presentation, size, color? HELP! I used to think that I was in good shape, when it came to bass fishing. I would consistantly catch keeper fish, 15in, and some really nice ones. But as soon as I joined the Jr. Pro Circuit, my fishing ability went down the drain. Or maybe the fish have just changed themselves. So, what do you do when you can't get a fish to bite on anything, any presentation, any color, at any location you go to? THANKS A MILLION -BASSMAN
  12. Hey guys and gals, Quick question. I know that everyone has that favorite lure, favorite place, presentation, structure, etc. So when you go out on a new area of water, whether it is a new area on an old lake, or a brand new lake to you, what is the automatic first thing that you try. For me it is the 4 points around small creek bridges, with a jig n' pig, near a shallow flat, with quick access to a deeper area. It doesn't matter the time, place, or conditions. This is my confort zone. So, what is yours? Thanks ;D
  13. Yeah that was it. I just didn't make it into the last day. Thanks Guys!
  14. I think that something is wrong with the ***tasy Game. The Lake Toho Tournament is over and they still haven't updated scores or anything yet. Does anyone know what is goin on? Please post if you do. -Thanks
  15. NO WAY! This can't be! > This stinks! You know what I think? I think we should boycott BASS until they put Fish Fishburne back on the air! He was the heart and soul of the BASS weigh-ins. My guess is that it would be over money. They probably found someone to do it cheaper. :'( I know that boycotting is not a logical thing, but maybe if we flood their email boxes with email, they might give us some answers. It's worth a try! -This Means War
  16. Yeah Nick, I read that same article in Bassmaster last week! This is really EXICTING! But you might want to go back and re-read the article. The Bass that you want to fish for are called the [move][glb][glb]F1 Hybrid[/glb][/glb][/move] The Tiger and Gorilla Bass are quite the fish also, and I would love to fish for them too. I tried the email address that was in the magizine, but it isn't good anymore. ??? Don't know why. But you can write that guy a letter and he will sell you some of those fish if you have a pond to stock them in. Glad to see someone else as interested in these fish as I am. -Best Wishes
  17. Yeah, I not felling very well either after day 1! I had Jeff Magee in 33rd. and everyone else was below 40th. But what really makes me > MAD!!!!!!!!!!! is that I let someone talk me out of my top 5 pick that I already had. In my Previous top 5 I had Kevin Worth 1st., Tak. Omori 3rd., Dean Rojas 5th., Woo Daves 6th, and David Walker 7th. Wow what a line up I had. Pretty great guessing I say. But I deserve it letting someone talk me out of it like that!!!!!! So I think I'm just goina sit over in the corner and cry :'( ha ha. Great Job Everyone!
  18. Find the diagonal standing timber in the middle of the vertical standing timber. These areas have a much greater percentage of holding bigger and more bass because they offer more cover than the standard vertical standing timber! Good Luck!
  19. Last spring while fishing the back of a creek, I found this large area where the creek opened up and spread out into a shallow flat. Lots of brush, bushes and trees and gravel/sand bottom. The particular location wasn't the area that pros say the big ones go to. It was a [glb]LONG[/glb] way from the main channel or even any water that was over 5 ft deep or better. There were multiple largemouth just about 1.5 or 2 ft. deep. Some of them looked to be may 3-5lbs. Some maybe bigger. Every now and then a 30 or 40 lb. Gar would swim by or a Carp as long as your leg, but they never disturbed the bass. My dad and I spent 1/2 a day trying to get any one of them to bite. I hooked one about 2 pounds on a reaction strike. The rest wouldn't even look at it. Multiple lures, jigs, worms/lizards, crankbaits, topwater, and more. The creek channel the ran back into it, became our faithful area. But we never fished that far back into it. Also we never seen anyone else back there fishing besides us. What's goin' on?????????? And what can I do to prevent this catastrophic event from happening this year? Thanks
  20. Quick Question ??? What is the tiebreaker score? and How much should I put down for each one the first and the second???? I need a really quick answer!
  21. Hi there, They call me the Kevin VanDam of Lake Barkley, down in them part. And I would happily be your partner. P.S. The best thing I gots is a pair of wadders so I guess we could use ur boat.
  22. If you don't have any go out and get you some Zoom 7.5 inch RED SHAD worms. These have got to be the best worms ever for fishing back in the back of creeks 3-7 ft. They have given me great success and hope they do the same for you.
  23. Over the past 6-7 years I have noticed the size and number of Bass, Bluegill, and Crappie in my pond rapidly decreasing. There are approx. 9-12? Channel and Blue cats in there and they range from 7-24 lbs. The pond is only about one acre. Are my catfish trashing the place? We feed the Catfish and Blue gill with small pellet dog chow, but I guess it isn't enough to slow down the big ones. Any Ideas on what to do?
