does any one else here name fish either in your pond or local waters. me and my nephew have a LMB we have named one eye joe we catch him several times a year in a local private lake its been cool watching him get bigger with each passing year last year he was at 5.14 we always catch him on the south east bank of this 15 acre lake. hes easy to identify cuz hes missing an eye hence one eye joe or maybe its jane never check out the plumbing haha

when we go its me my brother in law and my nephew. we dont have alot of stuff me and my nephew are new to it what is a spud. but i supose if theres others out there like last time it should be safe idk i wanna get there at sun up to get the good spot so i dont want to be the idiot to go threw

as far as i know theres no restrictions cuz i see speed boats out there all the time. the only thing im worried about with an older used one is reliabilty my dad always haunts me with the saying " ya know what boat stands for Break Out Another Thousand" now im pretty good mechanicly wise but thats cars and trucks im a diesel tech teacher in a tech school when not drilling with the guard. but i dont want a boat i gotta fix every other outing thats what im primarily worried about

whats the minimum amount of ice needed for ice fishing i just started going and would like to get out a time or 2 again but its getting warmer out but supposed to dip below 30 this weekend after 3 days above 40. now when i went out on the river sunday it was bout 8in will alot of that melt by this weekend with a few warmer days but the lows still around 32 with wind.

Wow, you're a jerk... It's what I do i got ya all beat with free at least for another 3 years unless i re up my contract with the new york national guard. idk if the free hunting and fishing license is worth staying in the military but it sure helps

what would you recomend for a first boat i wont be buying it till 2012 maybe 13 cuz im deploying to afganistan in november of 11 and will return dec of 12. im looking now to see whats out there and get some ideas cuz its gonna take now till then to convince my wife i need some thing other then a 12ft jon boat. i pretty much only fish for bass and want to get into tournaments. i live on lake ontario but my honey holes are the smaller man made lakes near by so im not concerned with taking on big waters. im thinking 10k price range maybe more prolie less if its up to my wife.

check out military surplus my issued ecws bag is warm as all heck and is 3 piece so u can take parts out for warmer conditions or add for colder. it keeps me warm sleeping in the snow in Ft. drum with sub zero temps. you can find them in cheaper than dirt or ranger joes

i dont see a prob with bed fishing if done in a legal manor and you handle them properly and return them. i dont keep bass regardless of the season and get upset when i see bass in pan fishermans buckets cuz they got a passer by. i see it all the time almost daily people catching fish out of season or undersized and keeping them anyways. idk how much it impacts honestly cuz i still catch big fish and plenty of numbers but its still wrong.

i also heard it just ment a healthy spawn i cought several with the black blotches out of the same lake last year all during the spawn one was completly black on the left side no other colors just solid black. i submited the photos of them to NAFC they had a thing on it id post em here but says there to large

i prefer spinning outfits it feels more natrual for me when fishing jerk baits usualy smithwicks i use a bps . rod and reel combo the reels kinda on the crappy side the drag sucks but the rods good its a 6'6 mf

its just expensive only downside to it

i switched some last year i didnt notice a big diffrence on the softer bottoms but in the rocky streams for smallies i could feel the bottom better when paired with flouro and my techspec casting rod

luck-e-strike worms float with a 4/0 trigged weightless cast em out over submerged glass or lilly pads and just twitch it back and they cant resist. plus there cheap 4.98 at walmart for 20 5 in each color brown,pink,chart,black

i like the ribbits as well but the legs tend to get ripped off the floating model they feel like playdo to me they work well but only good for 2 or 3 at best and i fish a pike infested dam that tears them up along with frogs but scum frogs are cheap to replace. i tried patching holes with super glue but it made them sink even worse then the tooth holes

sounds good thanks for the tips. iv done the chatter bait thing it used to be killer in the streams till a tree ate it and i couldent get it out. iv put them on buzzbaits that the skirt rotted off and had success also.

how do you fish flukes they were my go to for lmb last year. i fished them weightless rigged weedless then 10lb suffix mono on a MF rod with a pfluger echlon and just twitched it just under the surface and on top darting out like jumping shad. i would get explosive hits but i was wondering how other ppl fish this plastic iv read about using a 3 way swivel but havent tried i yet i fish off the bank or out of a canoe usualy

i love frog fishing i got two 370 boxes packed with em cheap scum frogs to ever spro poper and frog you can think of i get hits on all of em just the same the spro and mad maxx cast farther but the cheap scum and snag proof mouse/rats have the best hit to hook up ratio by far even with the new soft body spros

i use my issued assault pack its huge and durable. you can get em from rangerjoes.com or cheaperthan dirt theres tons of diffrent sizes they work perfict i just empty mine out on drill weekends smoke granade pouches hold my bug spray to for added bonus haha

the past 2 years have been good for me fishing outa pointbreeze and then johnsons creek right off the lake. like every other cast 3+ pounders me and my nephew would have races or mini matches against eachother wading the creek or the pier at point breeze. but soon as late may early june it seems like they all shrunk the numbers were there just all around 10in or less. but from april till mid may i filled a whole note pad loged with smallies in the 3+ range with 2 over 6lbs. i used tubes,cranks,mini chatterbaits and ole faithful mr twister.

i got a fire extinguisher last year but in the past iv snaged into bikes, rims, clams, birds, bull frogs, people. the worst was prolie last year not paying attention i went to cast and snagged my backpack i use when bank fishing omg it was the worst back lash i almost chucked the pole into the river i was so mad.

im starting to go crazy to the hunting has stunk this year so im starting to get that itch for the spring smallie run up here. i just started using jigs alot last year and was slaying em every outing im stocking up soon as my taxs come in. new bait caster or 2 a new light action spinning rod and jigs jigs and more jigs.
