  1. Thanks.
  2. Has anyone been fishing it lately? If so, any success?

I just moved here, and I'm fishing the potomac soon, what is this river like? As of Rocky or a lot of grass and what not.
  4. Watermelon or pumkin, it works well for me.
  5. I was actually looking at that, but since I'm a budget fisherman, I had to pass. I just hope the pockets are big enough for the tools....I also use that Bagback that BPS has, and those 2 systems would help me.
  6. I just ordered the BPS Mesh Vest that doubles as a PFD. Since the Potomac has some deep pockets, this would help me. Does anyone else use these before? Are they any good?
  7. Wow, way to start fights.

Good thinking on the life jacket! ;D
  11. I have only caught one Smallie since I started fishing...I grew up by lakes that stocked LMB and crappies. Last fall I got stationed in DC and this summer, I am going to the Potomac to target the smallies, I don't have a boat, but I got chest waders. Can't wait to the fight to begin.

Not at places like goose creek and around Riverbend park and that one park that starts with an A?
  13. Ok, First off I was told by some co workers that if I eat a fish from the potomac river that I would catch something and die. The second is can I wade anywhere? Or at least check the depth or does it just drop off? and Thrid I was told not to wade because tons of people die in the Potomac every year. Can anyone clear up all of this, because I heard from tons of people that the Potomac is one of the greats rivers to fish in the SE.
  14. Nothing beats a little shaky head.
  15. I do have chest waiters from fishing in AK, like how far out do I need to be? I will be heading out for Goose Creek, sometime soon.
  16. I just got my first baitcaster, and I don't like it as much as my spinning. I fish for the most part soft plastics, so spinning suits me the most. I am still learning to cast it. I am still on the newbie lob. I just want to know if I'm the only one on here that loves spinning more than baitcasting.
  17. I live in Reston. Fishing at Goose Creek.
  18. Ok, never had to deal with them before, What should I do when I catch one? What does Virginia Fish and Game want me to do with them.
  19. Never lived in an area that was big on SM, now since I live by the Potomic, I do have some grubs and a lot of 4" plastics. I just want to know if a 6'0 M pole with 8# test ok. I want a SM/LM meet in the middle set up.
  20. When you get older your wife will do the same thing. Haha! Jason Jason you must have an awfully nice wife. My wife shows me the flyer then says, "There are some great deals in there.... Too bad I already spent all your money and then some, muh, ha,ha, haaaaa!!!!!" ;D My wife hides them and wait untill one day after and say something like "Tobad, they had great deals and we could of went.
  21. Man, I really need to fish. I'm going crazy.
