  1. IMO you either have your reel too full or the line has twists. Line twist are what makes mine line jump off the spool. Are you sure you put the line on the spinning reel correctly? If applied in the wrong direction it will twist the whole spool. Also, make sure your not reeling against the drag! reeling against the drag on a spinning reel will put many twist in any line.
  2. Zoom trick worms and Robo worms for me.
  3. Dancin Eel, can't buy a bite with them. Finnally took them out this spring on a lighting up my gear mission.
  4. I heep all my gear in my MIni-van all season. Have not noticed line deterioration but sometimes my softs might take a set. I store my plastic in planos and try to keep them on a horizantal plane. this takes care of the setting problem but sometimes i forget. Warm them up again and you can usually get rid of it.
  5. My son would like to learn to hunt whitetail. He is 13 and a good size boy. Wondering if anyone out there has a bow for sale that would be a good size for a young man.
  6. Senko worms, spinnerbaits, small crankbaits have been working over here in Oh. My Senko bite has been outstanding. Jerkbaits, rattle traps, and jigs are worth a try also.
  7. I like the stuff. Put it on my Shakey head outfit last year when it came out. and could not be happier. I do notice that it will fray with abrassive use, but so will just about everything else. My biggest complaint is that it will dig into itself when I am fighting a big fish or have a hard hookset... I can handel that. Have not tied on a leader yet.
  8. Sounds like buying a demo car from a car dealer. You get what you pay for.
  9. Looking for some direction on a perticular lube that I researched late this last winter. I thought I saved the web page to Fav,s but now that I'm ready to buy, apperantly not. I believe the company developed the oil for aerospace industry but it has been found great popularity in the firearm and fishing industies as well. I can add that it is named by a letter or two and a number but the company name has ecaped me. Anybody...
  10. I prefer Mustad impact. They have a pin that i insert in the nose of the frog. I hold it in place with a drop of super glue. I like this set up because the pin does less damage to the frog on hit. Screw locks do hold good initially but once they pull out you are left with a hole. With the pin, the damage to the frog is minimal and a small drop of super glue and your back on the water.
  11. I would have a Rage toad tied on for those pads. A jig for down deep.
  12. I would use atleast a 5/0 but if 4 is what you have, go for it. and yes to the rest
  13. I use a palomar with floro alomost always and don't expierence break offs but i use a lot of lines in higher test. I do retie after a handful or so of big fish, but if I get side tracked with something, sometimes I wait to long and snap! Make sure you lubricate knots with some saliva. Friction will damage the line and compromise the knot.
  14. 5/0 worm hook with as little weight as the wind will let me get away with.
  15. An other vote Powell if your willing to spend a little more. 7' MH. Very versetile, will balance well and has good sensitivity. Now go get it.
  16. i think thats the idea. Are you happy with your swich to Lews?
  17. I agree with all. Own 4 and will certianly buy more. Perticularly am impressed with the ML spinning bought last year for my Shakey Head fishing. Paired with a Stradic reel the performance is outstanding. The 703-CEF is the most versitial rod I own. Great bang for the buck.
  18. It's the only way they can justify spending more and getting less.
  19. Sign says pre-order. I have seen pre-order a couple of places with deliver sometime early fall. Nice advertisment in Bassmaster Mag. this month/last month? with a pull out booklet. Smaller, lighter, braking system changes. And slight price increases. stx $220.
  20. I've had an extreme for 6-7 years and it has been a good reel. Might not last as long as my Quantums, Abu's, or Diawa's but at a third of the cost, it was a good deal. Just recieved the newer version it the mail yesterday. No adjustment on the centrifugal breake on this one. Feels great in the hand.
  21. throw which ever one best matches the size of prey in your pond. As for depth and bottom contact i will hold my rod tip very high for shallower water then drop it down as the water deepens.
  22. Have not fished with Dobyns, just compared the two in store and have chosen powell. own 4 and feel they are a lot of rod for the money. Have one Endurence series in a crankbait model. Not sure if its worth an extra 40.00? Max's are a great value IMO.
