  1. Anyone fish Stumpfield lately? Worried about the water level. Wondering if you'd be able to get a fiberglass boat under the bridge back but the stumps. Appreciate any updates.
  2. Haven't been posting at all this year, kids man... I agree, the fish have been hitting moving baits lately. Swimming a jig real slow has worked well. Gotten 5+ lbrs in all of the last 3 tournaments I've fished, Massabessic, Stumpfield, Pawtuckaway. Anyone fish Pleasant Lake in Deerfield? Going blind on Sunday, I've never been. Any info would be much appreciated. PM if you want. My old man's day at Stumpfield a couple weekends ago...the small one was just over 4lbs...the big one weighed in at 6lbs5oz. It had the head and shoulders of a 7+lbr but was too skinny, that toad in the spring or later in the fall is a 7+lbr all day....
  3. Sandy sold NBS but will still be working for the company that bought them, they are re-branding as Tackle Supply Depot (www.tacklesupplydepot.com) which will open soon. Sandy will continue to run the Northern Bass Tournament trail and currently has 7 permits pulled for 2015: May 3 - Big Squam May 9 - Winnipesaukee June 21 - Ossipee July 12 - Connecticut River August 16 - Winnisquam October 4th - Winnipesaukee October 10-11 - TOC at Winnipesaukee I'm sure she'll probably have a couple more (in VT/MA/ME) but that is what is on the NH Fish & Game website so far.
  4. Hit up Northwood, water was cold and they were still deep but was able to coax a few up, largest 4 would have weighed in at about 10lbs...two biggest are here...felt good to get the gear back in the water.
  5. I agree with some of the points made about tournament fishing, it has exploded and weakened some good fisheries. My father lives on Big Island Pond and it has been overfished over the last few years. That being said they are still in there, you just have to look a little harder. The State of NH does a good job recording and regulating the waters and they cut back the amount of tournaments on BIP this year. They only had 8 total scheduled for the whole year, one prespawn (which was cancelled due to low water), one in the middle of July and the rest in August/September. Anywho fished Massy this past weekend, got some pretty good fish brought to the scales. 8 boats in our tourney, 4 of them brought 5lb LM to the scales, including my old man. Can't believe how well that place fishes with how much pressure it sees. Bow Lake is next, anyone fish that lately? Going out there on Wednesday.
  6. So fished Northwood on Sunday, slow day. Caught 4 of the 5 keepers by 9 am and then struggled to fill out a bag the rest of the day. Ended up taking 1st with 11lbs 10oz, so it was a slow day for everyone. There were 7 boats fishing our tournament, plus another 6 boats fishing for pleasure. Place got hammered. Definitely a little disappointing.
  7. Thanks for the info guys. Yeah we've fished tourneys there for the last 4 years and we usually are good for a 4lb LM and maybe another 3lb LM, then the rest smallies. Last year we had all 3lb+ smallies. I'm hoping for a good mixed bag this year, I'll let you guys know how it ends up.
  8. Anyone fish Northwood Lake this year? Did well there last year, headed there this weekend. Was wondering if the smallies have taken that place over, seems like it's been the trend over the past few years.
  9. I've never seen one, its a very shallow area. Great largemouth, tons of pickeral and good crappie. Had a 15" crappie hit a spiderjig last year in 8' of water. There are a couple holes that max out at 18' maybe on the back side but over by the bridge and the stumps its all 8' or less.
  10. Fished Stumpfield yesterday in my club's tourney. 8 boats in our club and there was probably another 8 boats fishing not in the club. Place got hammered but still managed some good fish. 5lbs 3oz was the big one, the other was at least 4.5lbs. Such a good spot all year.
  11. Anyone fish Sunapee lately? Headed there this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows where they are hiding on that lake.
  12. Shallow shallow. Saw tons of pairs cruising the shallow beach areas 4'-8' but they were not interested in anything. Caught them all on a gold deep diving suspending jerkbait, jerking the heck out of it. Felt like my arm was going to fall off by the end of the day. That was a while ago, I'm sure they are all shallow now and probably bedding. That place is ridiculous during spawn and post spawn. Definitely going back soon. This is the lady in my club with the 5lb 14oz smallie. Look close, she only weighed the 'bigger one', so the other was clearly over 5lbs as well.
  13. Pic of my lunker 4lbs 14oz, biggest one I've ever caught. Good fish there, that place is probably on fire now.
  14. Had my clubs first tourney on Newfound on 5/6 and had some pretty good weights. The winning team boated 4 smallies weighing a total of 17lbs12oz with his kicker of 5lbs14oz, it was a pig. I had 3 weighing 10lbs10oz with a kicker of 4lbs14oz. Pic below, fishing was tough but the ones we caught were big. That place is close to being on fire, probably already is since it happened last week. Great smallies.
  15. So follow up to this, just fished our first tourney at Newfound this year and had a decent tournout. 3 smallies, 10lbs 14oz total, kicker being 4lbs 14oz. Good average, came in 3rd, winner at 4 smallies totalling 17lbs 12oz, his lunker was 5lbs 13oz, biggest smallie I've ever seen. It was a toad. Pictures to come...
  16. Newfound is great during spawn/early June for smallies. Anyone fish there yet this year? I'm headed out Wednesday for the first trip of the year. Could be too early but could also have the lake to myself.
  17. Anyone fish Winnisquam since the storm? Headed there Sunday and was wondering if they are on their fall patterns a little early. Any info would be much appreciated, feel free to pm info over.
  18. Hey guys, good looking fish all around. I've been busy fishing tourneys, doing alright but struggling to find size. My dad and I fish together and we have both agreed the numbers are way up this year, but we are lacking the kickers that always seem to be around. BIP is probably better this year that it has been in years. Schoolies are abundant and make for fun nights after a long day. You can easily get (10) 3-lbrs in a row if you get into them. Fun stuff. Anywho I've got one coming up Sunday at Northwood and then am fishing Stumpfield Labor Day weekend. Anyone fished either lately? Any updates??
  19. Nice SMB fmoore. BIP is warming up, 59F by the docks. Smallies are moving in with beat up tails and the LM are cruising the docks when the sun is shining. Caught this nice 4lb 4oz LM on a Bomber Long A under the neighbor's dock.
  20. Hey guys. I recently stumbled on this site on a random search for info. Pretty impressive fish for SNH. I'm on Big Island Pond in Derry and started tournament fishing last year, so I haven't been around to a ton of places. We have our opener this Sunday on Bow Lake. Anyone have any tips? I've been there once not for a tournament but that was middle of summer, never fished it pre-spawn. Any info would be much appreciated. Haven't been able to get out much yet this year, the lake is still really low and I haven't been able to get the bass boat in the water. Hope it starts on Sunday!!
